Cape Madras have just released their “perfect summer attire” longsleeve shirt. I know those are two words you don’t usually see together, however Madras insists it is made from “the best warm weather fabric ever created.”
The fabric apparently has a great history behind it and gets its name from the “English name of the city of Chennai, India with their ‘Madrasi checks’.” The Cape Madras’ shirt has a button-down collar and shirttail hem. It’s made of 100% cotton patch madras and is offered in two colors: Trundy and Richmond LS.

One of our favourite new menswear labels to come out this year is the Baldr Collective. The entirely European made label originated in Norway, and have focused their first collection on classic t-shirts and button downs.
The label started with the aim of reinventing and redefining scandinavian values within design, craftsmanship and materials while making use of the nordic cultural heritage and its craftsman traditions. The result are some nice styles and a beautiful look-book – make sure to check them out here

Levi’s latest collection aimed at cyclists has been creating a lot of buzz this week and it is not hard to see why.
Their debut cycling line draws on their workwear heritage, while incorporating technical functionality. One of my favourite pieces from the collection is the Trucker Jacket, based on a 1967 design. It’s long cut with a slight drop tail flatters most body types and is perfect for cycling in. The jacket is well thought out and designed with the wearer in mind, from the angled front pockets for easy access, the extra fabric in the underarm for added mobility, to the lip on the cuff to partially cover hands while riding. Like all the pieces in the line, the jacket also features antimicrobial odor-protection and reflective accents for visibility.
Another key detail to point out is the Nanosphere Technology, which is used across the line. This application was developed in partnership with Swiss fabric brand Schoeller Technologies and makes materials water and dirt resistant, increasing the lifespan of the material.
In addition to the Trucker Jacket, Levi’s have also created the 511 Skinny Commuter pants (available in elasticized denim or khaki). What makes these pants unique is the loop built into the waistband for or carrying around your u-lock, and the reflective tape on the inner seam to provide increased safety at night. The reinforced crotch is also a nice touch that should save you from regular trips to the tailor.
If you are a cyclist in need of a new jacket or jeans definitely check out this collection.

Personally I have never really thought of Snoop Dogg as much of a fashion icon, but that is exactly where Adam Kimmel got his inspiration for his latest series of roll-up shirts. Utilizing a custom bandana print reflective of Snoop’s personal style, the shirts feature several different cashmere/cotton designs incorporated into the roll-up part of both T-shirts and button-downs. Overall creating an refreshing take on the classic T. Shirts are available through Por Vocacao.

It seems like everyone is trying to find a way to capitalize on the royal couples big day including luggage maker Globe-Trotter. Now I’m sure most of you are about as sick of hearing about the wedding as I am, but when I saw Globe-Trotters special edition luggage, I couldn’t help but write about it. I have always had a weak spot for classic luggage and this collection exemplifies why.
The British luxury company Globe-Trotter has a history of over 100 years of serving the British Royal Family, so I guess in some ways it is fitting that they would release a collection in celebration of the Royal Wedding.
The collection includes seven different hard-shell models in both “William” and “Kate” versions. While the “William” set features a navy and chocolate shell with a striped shirt lining, the “Kate” set features an ivory and navy shell lined with a more feminine print. You can order the set exclusively through Globe-Trotter here.

I know we are all a bit tired of weddings (thanks Will and Kate), but with the summer wedding season just kicking off, it is probably a good time to invest in a new tie to refresh that suit you wore last year. One of my favourite tie makers as of late has to be General Knot & Co.
The New England-based furnishings label has just released their new collection featuring chambray, plaid and floral prints. The vintage ties are handmade and use various fine fabrics and materials that date back as far as World War II. All ties are released as part of a one-time-only run, so you better move fast if you want to get your hands on one. Prices start at $78 USD (£47) and are available from their website General Knot & Co.

Tired of hearing all about Kate & Wills? Well fear not, you’re not alone! Which is why we love this cheeky campaign by the east London Ad agency, Albion. They have designed t-shirts and other memorabilia to support our Other Royal Wedding, the impending marriage of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall.
Albion London founder and CEO, Jason Goodman, said, ‘We wanted to create a mini-movement to support Zara and Mike on the run up to their wedding. Kate and Wills have all the hype, but we think this wedding is going to be much more fun.’
To get your own ‘I’d rather be at Zara & Mike’s’ shirt check out the shop. All profits go to Sargent Cancer Care for Children

I recently was introduced to this awesome LA based label Symmetry by a friend in California. I immediately fell in love with the way they have put a contemporary spin on the traditional wrap scarf.
The husband-and-wife design duo first launched their accessory brand in 2010, and have made a name for themselves by combining quality and function. After a well-received first run, Symmetry is back and continue to play on the innate versatility of scarves by adding supple leather strips that connect by clasp to leather-backed grommets. One of my favourite pieces has to be the Dixon, which turns from a scarf to a large tote bag.
Check out Symmetry’s online shop here. Prices start at $155.

As we all know on Friday 11th March 2011 a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and destructive tsunami caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing and millions more affected by the lack of water, electricity and transportation.
Over the past few weeks we have seen people all over the world coming together to raise money through the sale of everything from cakes to posters. Hackett London is just one of the many brands who have also stepped up to try and raise money for those who have been affected, by launching a limited edition polo shirt.
All profits from the sale of these shirts is being donated to the Japan Society “Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund”. The polo shirt has been designed with traditional Japanese embroidery of the cherry blossom which is an emblem of love and affection. The declaration of ‘Hope’ is embroidered on the polo in English and Japanese characters.
The cotton polo shirt is available in navy and white colourways for £49. You can purchase the shirt in Hackett stores worldwide and online from the end of April.

Today on Facebook, the online retailer ASOS posted this picture up to announce their new menswear trend – Beach Hut. The image doesn’t give to much away but it looks as though it will be continuing the khaki trend, that we are already seeing so much of. I also really love the use of colour blocking with more muted tones.
We can’t wait to see the full look when they launch the trend Monday.

It seems like brand collaborations are all the rage at the moment, but I was especially excited when I heard that Supreme and Clarks had teamed up to bring us a new take on the classic desert boot.
Supreme has taken the hugely popular British classic, and redesigned the ankle area slightly, sloping the back and adding an extra lace attachment in the form of a hook eye.
The boots will be available in the standard black, gray and navy blue, but they have also made one the Supreme red that looks amazing. No news on the release date yet but we expect them to retail for about £165.00

Last week Brandish was invited to celebrate 135 years of Jockey Underwear, at an impressive international catwalk show. The show saw the brand go back to its roots, showcasing a number of heritage pieces from its original collection in 1879, before introducing some of Jockey’s more updated collections for A/W 2011.

GQ Editor Dylan Jones, hosted the night and provided the audience with product highlights from Jockey’s 135 history, from its beginnings with predecessor Samuel T Cooper and classic all-in-ones, to the space underwear created for NASA and the 3D Innovations collection of today.
The Models moved through different eras through in a highly choreographed show, that even featured dubstep at one point. The new collections that were revealed within the catwalk, included the latest USA Originals range, meant to encapsulate the ‘American Way of Life’, the Urban Luxury range and Countryside range, representing the North American outdoors.
Overall it was a great night and a really fun way to not only see how Jockey have grown as a brand, but how their product has really developed over the years. Trust me, I am glad no one is rocking the onesy anymore!

Warmer weather is fast approaching and many are getting their bikes out again. One of the most important accessories for any cyclist (other than safety items of course) is a a solid and dependable pack for carting your possessions around.
While there are plenty of options out there, we absolutely love the latest Mystery Ranch messenger bag. The Outsider features a padded computer sleeve, numerous pockets for organization, and a detachable shoulder strap cellphone case among other elements.

We recently came across this great new men’s t-shirt label, t-lab. We loved their distinctive style mixing art, design and popular culture.
The shirts overall have a punchy ‘less is more’ graphic style and rely on the use of strong colours and shapes. We loved how the semi-abstract graphics invite the viewer
to ‘de-code’ the shirt’s message, while clearly drawing influence from music, surfing and skiing.
To top it off all t-lab shirts are made from heavyweight 100% cotton, from suppliers committed to sustainable social and environmental policies.
We liked what the guys over at t-lab were doing so much that Brandish has teamed up with them to give you the chance to win some awesome new swag. To win two t-shirts of your choice simply go check out their site here then leave us a comment or tweet to tell us which shirt is your favourite and why.
The winner will be selected at random on March 31st.
