Fenom’s assault on Denim continues with their now well established collaboration with Levi’s. This seasons offerings are a 207 and a 505 all with the Fenom trademark details such as a new leather patch on the waistband, lining on the rear pocket, zip pocket and of course the Fenom lightening bolts painted on in red. These should be available at select Levi’s dealers soon- possibly by the end of the week.

Jeans & Trousers

Hitting you up with some more Levi’s action, this time from Japan. Levi’s Japan has launched a new service for all of those who wanted custom jeans straight out the box. Following in the footsteps of Nike I.D it is now possible to get custom jeans direct from Levi’s with the ability to pick the cut, wash, wear, and details such as rivet colour and paint spatters.
This is all good and I’m sure it will take off, though I would like to see some more wash options and a few different cuts other than 502 regular wide, 505 regular wide and 517 bootcut- what’s wrong with a nice skinny fit?

Denim aficionado Levi’s has got together with animal preserver Damien Hurst to to bring a new and exclusive line of jeans and apparel all themed around Hurst’s work. The line was designed by Hurst himself along with designer Adrian Nyman and features skulls, spots and butterflies all printed onto black or blue jeans and black, white or purple t-shirts. No news on price or availability yet but the items should be hitting stores mid-September and are expected to sell out quickly.

As you can probably tell comments are down on Brandish, so when Nick emailed me asking about grey skinny jeans I clapped my hands together in excitement… A clothing hunt!
I went looking all over the internet for some grey skinny jeans with reasonable success. Hopefully there’s something here for you Nick and if anyone else wants me to don my web-hunting gear or just have a chat about clothes send me an email to isabelle [at] shinymedia.com.

Jeans & Trousers, Polls, Trends

Drop-crotch jeans have been dubbed the ‘future of denim’ and ‘the next skinny jean.’ I am an unbelievable skinny devotee (yes, I am scarred after wearing them in Summer-heat London and not even joking) and for this reason, I decided to road-test an exclusive pre-production sample pair from Trousers London. I ventured into Covent Garden to get the public opinion on whether the jeans were ‘(Drop-)HOT!’ or ‘PANTS!’ Pitying glances, envious looks, angry words and self-styling monologues; the Drop-Crotch jeans certainly attracted attention-but was it praise or pity? Read on for the full report with street-style pics, interviews, comments and product details.

Last week we featured Jeremy Scott’s tyre-print pyjama style trousers which is a great way to get into the loungewear trend.
Topman’s comic print bottoms might actually be pyjamas, and garish ones at that but they’re at a much more accessible price than the Jeremy Scott kecks, perfect for trying out something you might only wear once. The Fright Night bottoms are only £12, and they also come in a skeleton print and a snakes and ladders print.

It’s a good day for a plaid lover like myself, with trend reports claiming that the American working man is ready to have his time in the fashion lime light the new A/W 08 range from Levi’s has dropped at Oi Polloi.
I’ve been a fan of Levi’s Vintage denim for some time now but have always felt that the range as a whole has left a little to be desired, however this year the line up looks great with some of the usual suspect such as 501′s and 505′s and some awesome (you guessed it) plaid shirts.
So embrace your inner lumberjack and check out the full range after the jump.

Designer Spotlight, Jeans & Trousers, Polls

We’ve made you endure some pretty terrible things on Brandish (see here and here,) and now I present a sneaky snap of New Look’s new adjust-a-length jeans. The trick is you have to button up each different level of the jean depending on what you’re after; shorts, the semi-crop, full jeans or the button-embellished. Is it just me who gasps at this fashion indictment?
Mr Mills (yes that is the third week running we’ve mentioned him but this is truly relevant,) reported on this trend for the David Cameron-trouser-in-a-sock style only last Sunday and he also came to the conclusion that it was a modern-monstrosity.
What do you think?- tell us in the poll below!

Designer Spotlight, Jeans & Trousers

Heard of the saying ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’? Apparently Glue Jeans haven’t as they’ve decided to do away with stitching and make their jeans using glue. Guessing from their name, they decided on the glue before anything else.
It sounds like an interesting idea that will garner publicity but the glue can’t possibly withstand the wear and tear that jeans go through. Also the jeans look to be raw denim, which has to be worn for extended periods of time without washing, so look out for a bunch of ‘my glue jeans fell apart’ stories come next year.

Italy might be one of the only places where the men dress better than the women. This is of course a massive generalisation but diamanté, stripper shoes and white capri pants will never be a match for the classic, timeless style that many Italian men adopt.
Dropped-crotch trousers was not something I expected to spot on holiday but I duly dug out my camera and snapped this young man before he rode off on his super cool spray-painted bike. I just wish I knew the Italian for ‘I’m not a creepy weirdo, honest’.

If you couldn’t wait to get your hands on a pair of men’s dVb jeans, you’ll have to wait a good while longer as retailers have refused to stock them. It’s not yet known whether Vicky B will retreat to the drawing board (she might even include some of those skinny jeans she hates) or whether they’ll just lower the price point. Either way, the line has been pushed back to at least next year.

Jeans & Trousers, Polls, Sales

Uniqlo are always chock-full of sale bargains, but I wonder if anyone would go for their pink skinny jeans even with the reduction.
They’re down to £14.99 from £24.99, which a good price, but pink is a bit of a tricky colour to wear.
The shade of pink itself is a nice dusky colour which will look good teamed with neutrals in a colourblocking fashion. A nice touch is the dark stitching which gives the jeans a little bit of contrast.
So what do you think of these pink jeans? Would you wear them? Take our poll after the jump!

Jeans & Trousers

At the peak of the raw denim obsession, everyone and their grandmother were turning their back on distressed jeans in favour of a DIY approach. Get a fresh pair, work in them, sleep in them, bathe in them: all in preparation for the unique fade that’d appear after the first few washes.
The A.P.C. ‘Butler Worn Out’ series taps into the spirit of the ‘lived in’ look by throwing out the hand sanders and pumice stones… and replacing them with someone who’ll actually live in them before they hit the shelves.
It’s an interesting concept, but it throws up a few issues. Namely the sizing problems you’re likely to get with someone wearing (and stretching) your jeans before you – and whether A.P.C. should be asking typical retail prices for what are essentially second hand goods.

Clothing, Jeans & Trousers, Sales

Now that the sales are in full swing, it’s time to start picking out the true bargains. House of Fraser is usually too chav-tastic for me, but these J. Lindeberg jeans are a steal at £50. The simple design and dark wash make this a wardrobe staple instead of a regretful sales purchase, so you won’t have to worry about whether you’ll still like it in six months.
Something you should know is that J.Lindeberg run their clothing in indie sizes (i.e a size smaller than they are). So although these are labelled as straight leg, they fit like slim jeans.
