Coolio has come under fire in the Celebrity Big Brother house for being leery and aggressive, one of his latest stunts (aside from making people cry and describing women as ‘whores and bitches’) was to plonk his head on ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena‘s lap, prompting her to ask him if he wanted a pillow to which he replied: ‘No, I want to lay on your thigh.’ Nice.
Perhaps what he needs is some solitary confinement and some time alone with the lap pillow? The creepy pillow from Himeya retails at $68.99 and consists of a trim pair of legs encased in a bang on trend bodycon mini. Can we get the makers to send one into the BB house please?!
Givenchy chose to give a presentation of their clothes at Pitti Uomo in Milan yesterday, take a look at the video to see the clothes, which consisted largely of avant-garde style traditional menswear. The collection gave off slightly post-apocalyptic vibes with fur coats and military tailoring. Trousers had oversized waistbands cinched in with rope or woven leather belts, thick soled shoes made an appearance and patterns consisted of stripes and plaid check.
From a writer’s point of view presentations are great because you can see fabrics and details up close, but I feel that they sometimes lack the impact of a catwalk show? What do you think?

Jude Law makes another appearance in his second series of adverts for Dunhill, which sees him in a variety of Hamptons-esque locations including beach, car, library and decking in a multitude of smart outfits.I can see where Dunhill are trying to go with Jude but it seems like he’s not quite right for the brand, and his posing skills are slightly questionable.

These have been on Kanye’s site for a while but if you haven’t seen them here are the deck shoe/trainer/spaceship hybrid here they are in all there hyperbolic glory. Now personally they’re not my cup of tea but I think they capture the personality of ol’ Westwing perfectly. Let me know what you think after the jump.
Pitti Uomo kicks off today, but for now the big news is that Savile Row tailor Kilgour has dropped out of the Paris Menswear shows. The label will instead be holding viewings in their London showroom from January 21st. Carlo Brandelli, Kilgour’s creative director said: “We thought about a visual presentation in Paris on the schedule, but with the current instability and climate at the moment, we wanted to have a rethink on how the brand progresses and shows for the next seasons.”
The Golden Globes sent ripples of excitement around the blogosphere and we (royal we, obvs) were up all hours liveblogging the lovely ladies of the silver screen for y’all but what about the guys? It’s obviously going to be less of an event until they let the guys wear something other than black tie (c’mon!?) but take a look at our gallery to see who we picked from the evening, click here to see Leonardo Dicaprio with Kate Winslet.

Leonardo DiCaprio scrubbed up fairly well for the Golden Globes last night, the shiny pinstripe material was bad but it’s nice to see him go for something slightly different. The textural contrast between the suit fabric and velvet waistcoat and lapels, satin tie and patent shoes is very satisfying.
The Hollywood star wasn’t up for any awards himself but he’s succeeding Brad Pitt as the face of Tag Heuer, the LVMH-owned Swiss watch company. DiCaprio will be splashed across billboards and magazines wearing the Carrera Day-Date watch for three years according to the terms of the million-dollar contract.

Obedient Sons and Daughters, one of the brands we were looking forward to at New York Fashion Week is closing due to problems with one of their major investors, who is said to be Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt.
The label, which started off as Obedient Sons and added the ‘Daughters’ after incorporating a women’s range is run by husband and wife Swaim and Christina Hutson but it wont be the last we’ll see of the duo. Obviously aware of impending troubles they’ve been designing a collection for a sibling venture which will show on the 14th February during fashion week. The new name will be revealed as the invitations are sent out, in the mean time take a look round the couple’s apartment courtesy of clebu-interiors porn site The Selby.

my-wardrobe have been doing men’s accessories for a while now but January sees the launch of their menswear clothing section.
Featuring clothes by Cold Method, APC and Acne it’s another site which raises the bar for menswear and should put some oomph into your wishlists for Spring 09.
What’s more they’ve got a competition so good I might even enter myself, you can win £1000 shopping experience for yourself and a female friend. Of course you could always go the sneaky route and pick a partner with no interest in fashion at all. Hmm, I wonder if my dad’s busy…
Brad Pitt, currently promoting his new film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ has nabbed the cover of this month’s W magazine. Brad stars in a photographic portfolio by Chuck Close and the black-and-white pics are basically Pitt at a few different angles. The covers boasts that this issue is ‘The A-List’ issue with “the superstar, the hottest directors, the coolest producers 7 the glitziest Hollywood memorials.”
See after the jump for the entire set of photos and tell us what you think of Brad’s attempt to be arty over on our Facebook wall.
Make no bones about it, Spanx are for decreasing the size of your arse in fancy dresses, but the makers of Equmen proclaim that their Core Precision Underwear does all these whizzy things:
Improves posture
Supports core muscles
Controls body temperature
Visibly streamlines the body
Ha! I think it’s quite sweet that they have given the control top so many wondorous attributes, but let’s face it, if you’re in the market for one of these it’s because you’ve got a slight paunch and you can’t or can’t be bothered to shift it. One of the writers at the Times recently tried it out and he gave it a thumbs up, but would you give it a go?
Alfred Shaheen, the man responsible for popularising the Hawaiian shirt died on the 22nd of December.
Taking on his parents’ business after returning from WWII Shaheen built up the company turning it into a million dollar enterprise with a group of highly skilled workers dubbed Alfred Shaheen’s City of Craftsmen.
The Hawaiian shirt or ‘Aloha’ shirt became popular on the islands as dress-down formal wear but it was Shaheen, with the help of stars like Elvis Presley, who helped extend the fashion for Hawaiian shirts across the globe. Check out our gallery to trace the history of the garment.
Matt Smith, a 26-year old actor and relative unknown, has been made the new Doctor Who and if not for anything else, he will be known as the youngest ever Doctor. Smith has appeared in theatre productions ‘That Face’ and ‘Swimming with Sharks.’ Smith is creating considerable drama with his appointment as The Doctor and my favourite (albeit unreliable) Daily Mail is reporting suspicions of a betting-related scandal.
With his thin frame, gauche mannerisms and androgynous looks, I think we have a potential style idol on our hands. What do you think? Tell us on our Facebook wall.
I love it when a good fashion mystery gets solved, and last week Style Salvage unearthed the names of the two siblings we featured recently on Love the Look.
They’re called Dee and Ricky and they make the cute Lego heart badges snapped by the Sartorialist and sported by Kanye West. They come in classic red, multi or for the dead inside, black. It’s too late for Christmas but they would make a perfectly non-soppy Valentine’s gift, or even better a post-Christmas treat for yourself should Santa’s haul prove to be disappointing.
The Mighty Boosh have lost a little of their quirky homespun charm now that they’re living up to their Rock n’ Roll onstage personas, but they can still pack a venue with adoring fans.
Their gig at the O2 arena in London yesterday was a sellout, Noel Fielding had as many costume changes as Katy Perry at the MTV EMAs, including the ones pictured above but the highlight was probably a bizarre old lady outfit teamed with gold boots! I doubt that any of Fielding’s costumes would translate to real life, but as the comedian once said himself “you can never be unhappy in a poncho”, so maybe give it a go during the low points of the Christmas break?
