Freehands, the gadget lovers gloves launch this week in Europe with a special Groupon offer in the UK for 50% off any order this Thursday November 3rd, 2011.
Freehands, are the leading brand of gadget gloves in the US and now they have set their sights on capturing the European market; and just in time for winter.
These unique gloves were designed by New-York-City based Josh Rubin, the founder of CoolHunting.com, when he found himself answering his iPhone with his nose to avoid taking off his gloves. The hassle of the glove-or-phone conundrum came up at dinner with his father, Stanley Rubin, who conveniently manufactures and sells gloves over the last 25 years. In a matter of minutes, sketches were drawn, the scissors were out, and the Freehands glove was born.
Freehands Gloves come in two designs for keeping hands warm, Conductive tips or Flip-Fingers. There are tons of different styles, colors, and Thinsulate insulated high quality materials like cashmere, leather, fleece, rag-wool, and Polartech to chose from.
The Conductive Tips are great for any touchscreen device as special materials conduct electricity like your finger normally would so you don’t have to take off your gloves to use the device. The Flip-Fingers are ready for anything winter throws at you while keeping your hands toasty by giving you access to your fingers by using built in magnets to hold back the flipped finger caps when you need them.
If like me you constantly have to check your phone, these gloves are the perfect winter accessory. Don’t forget to check out the Groupon deal Thursday to get a pair halfprice!!

With many online boutiques starting there summer sales this week, I thought a pick from a couple wouldn’t go amiss. Oki-Ni have a huge sale on and it really is the chance to pick up something beautiful and rare at a bargain price.
Shorts by Pendleton x Opening Ceremony £165 £99
The first pick is these Pendleton x Opening Ceremony shorts. Such a wonderful collaboration teaming American Heritage with urban pieces, these shorts are one of the only pieces in the range with checks instead of Navajo print and it works perfectly.
Trousers by Acne £245 £147
These Acne Pitched Posh Trousers are a slightly different shape from just a tapered leg, with a balloon shape giving the trousers a very slim ankle but a relaxed fit throughout the rest of the trouser. Made from 56% linen and 44% cotton these are a light trouser for the summer and would look great turned up with some pastel brogues for a smart but forward look.
Leather Jacket by Chronicles Of Never £1155 £693
This unstructured crumple effect leather has the edges left raw for an ‘organic effect’ and I have to say it works beautifully. The unstructured silhouette works well with a skinny bottom half and it’s been styled well with a longer length t-shirt underneath.

Clarks have reissued the ‘Ashcott’ shoe has been out of production for a long time and continue to really impress with their Clarks Originals range. This is a slightly higher version of the original and is class as a mid-boot. They make a nice alternative to the desert boot and have inspired some contemporary sneakers in their time.

At Oi Polloi you can snap up some incredible pieces for some good discounts at the moment including Acne jeans and Heritage Research. The savings range from 20 to 40% and there is a good range of sizes still available so get there fast. My pick is the watch above by Toy Watch Company. It’s down to £156 from £195

Take advantage of this offer to get some amazing leathers and t-shirts at %25 off. Although I’m not the biggest fan of some of their designs, they do have a habit of creating some really fashion forward looks that are still accessible. My advice would be to snap this beautiful leather up while it’s cheap!

Farfetch, the website that brings together the best from designer boutiques around Europe, is having a private sale. Admittedly there isn’t much for a credit crunch budget, but there are plenty of quality investment pieces with up to a 40% discount.
The Missoni sweater should by rights, be an eyesore, but because it’s Missoni it just works. Use as a cosy beach cover-up over some tailored grey shorts. The limited edition design means that each jumper will be different which is an added bonus. Raf Simons‘ transparent grey aviators are totally modern, whilst retaining the classic shape. If you can manage not to sit on them these will last you a long time. Fummel & Kram‘s tapeman scarf is colourful and playful, but the taupe fabric will go with a multitude of summer colours. Finally, brogues are firmly positioned as a wardrobe staple once more, and B Store’s pair scream summer.

Is this t-shirt going to convince everybody? I’m not certain, but priced at just £6 in the Asos sale I’m sure some people could be persuaded.
The tiger print is, of course, the most superior of animal prints suggesting feline fun and power. In bright fadeout colours it’s perfect for the summer, and will look great with a pair of tailored shorts and pastel deck shoes, like the ones suggested by Colin, below for a sugar-sweet take on the preppy look.

Canny shoppers take note, the Topman sale is now on which means that if you do some careful shopping you can pick up some pieces that will take you through Spring into summer.
A grey peacoat is a great building block for your wardrobe, Topman’s cropped offering might not last you forever but at £15 it’s an unbeatable price. The Premium wine trousers will get you out of the officewear rut and again they’re at the bargain price of only £25. Tasselled loafers have been cropping up on our fashion radar for some time now, and if you want to dip your toes into the trend forking out £30 for Topman’s pair is a fairly risk-proof investment.

Splashing out on a pair of brightly coloured suede boots might not be your biggest priority at the moment but Aquascutum’s desert boots are pretty appealing.
Orange is one of the big colour trends to come out of womenswear this season and it’s a great shade to pep up staple menswear items like beige khakis, grey cardigans and jeans. What’s more the boots are on sale with 30% off at Farfetch so you’ve got a great excuse should you wish to treat yourself to something to perk up the post-Christmas slump.

With the post-Obama glow making the US a desirable destination again, the pound not doing so badly against the dollar and hot guides like Buck magazine’s current New York issue, you may well be considering a shopping trip to NYC for Christmas or for the sales.
Head downtown where (reasonably) well known destinations like BBlessing and Oak offer the novelty of man boutique shopping at good prices (for us Brits at least). Ralph Lauren Rugby, aptly off University Place and not available in Europe feels like Vampire Weekend’s dressing up box. Other lesser-known places include TheCAST’s first retail store and Freemans – the offshoot of the uber-trendy restaurant.
If you make if off Manhattan (its EASY!) then Williamsburg has some great options: the original Oak store, the APC sale shop and Shoe Market (THE place in the city for deck shoes at half UK prices). Oak, TheCAST and BBlessing all have webstores if you can’t make it in person (though be cautious of those import taxes at the UK post office).

Burton’s sale is now on and they’ve got lots of great reductions including houndstooth waistcoats, the limited edition Ben Sherman overcoats and a good selection of knitwear.
Top of my list however is this bib front dress shirt, it might seem a bit frivolous but how often can you get a shirt like that complete with silk knots and bow for £12?!
Snap up this sale bargain and wear it on an everyday occasion with grey trousers and a burgundy cardigan for a smart outfit with a dash of style.

It’s sale time again and there are plenty of bargains to be had at Topman. Their straight cut grey trousers are a cheap office staple and the graph paper check of the nylon jacket is lots of fun.
For something a little more grown up the navy suede ankle boots look far more expensive than their price suggests, just make sure to arm yourself with some suede protector for rainy days. Finally the shawl collar is big news this autumn, and livens up the commonplace cardigan.

The Clarks desert boots we featured last week went down so well that I thought I’d find another pair of the classic shoe. A little pricier but nonetheless covetable are these Aquascutum white boots. They’re reduced from £325 to a more acceptable £125 at Secret Sales -you have to sign up to get access to the site but once in there are plenty of bargains to be found.
The white uppers look very soft and the leather sole is pure quality, admittedly white isn’t the most practical colour but I think it makes an interesting winter choice. Teamed with a palette of pale neutrals they will look easily elegant, or try using them as a brilliant punctuation in an otherwise dark outfit.
