In the current day and age, the average person needs to stay connected at all times. We rely on the internet for various reasons. Email, the latest news and many other services take place online and feature in our daily lives, often more than we probably realise or appreciate.

With this in mind, there are devices that can help to make this part of life much easier. Technology and smart devices have adapted to allow us greater connectivity. With this in mind, here are a few examples of just how useful an iPad 3 can be:

On the go

Before the tablet came along and sky-rocketed sales in stores like Carphone Warehouse, the laptop was the traditional device used on the go. This, unfortunately, was rather clunky. It has to be set up, turned on, and used like a traditional computer with mouse and keyboard. It slowed you down and wasn’t designed for being truly on the move.

Yet the tablet circumvents most laptops. While a laptop is useful in many ways, a tablet is quicker and more intuitive. You don’t need to wait for it to load up or unpack it. You simply use the touchscreen controls to get to whatever it is you want to do.

Furthermore, whereas laptops require you to sit down somewhere, the modern tablet is much more flexible. You can use your iPad on the move; you’re not confined to a desk or tablet whenever you want to do some quick internet browsing.

Apps

The iPad, like any other smart device, has access to all kinds of apps. This gives you all the functionality and flexibility you’ll ever need from one device. Whether you need apps for work or fun, you can find anything you need to help your iPad 3 reflect your personality.

Furthermore, you can download countless games and fun apps, giving you plenty to do both in and out of work. With iPad 3, you have access to the Apple Store, one of the leading app markets available.

For the modern individual who is keen to keep up to date with the latest trends, this simply extends the appeal of the tablet. With the ability to download new apps, you’ll never get bored. Even when on the go, the modern smart tablet is always providing a new experience.

Fashionable

Finally, like any other device or accessory you take with you, there’s nothing wrong in wanting your technology to be as fashionable as possible. The modern tablet is sleek, thin and ultra-modern, so it looks great in addition to fulfilling so many functions in your day to day life. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that the iPad 3 was one of the top technology items searched for in Google this year.

In short, this is just a quick look at the benefits of a tablet, such as iPad 3. Whether you are planning to use the tablet for work, home or anywhere in between, the portable nature of the device, combined with its many uses and advantages, make it quite a proposition.

Fantastic free app from the great British band that among other things hosts a load of the band's videos, includes a timeline that shows their history and lots of images, biographies, news updates and more. Its the gold standard for band apps.

Got yourself a new tablet this Christmas. Chances are that you, or some in your home has taken delivery of a new iPad, iPad mini, Galaxy Tab, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD or one of those cheapo models that we like so much.

The big question is then what apps should you download first? We have put together a list of 30s apps that we think are absolutely essential. Some are games, some books, some enable you to watch TV, all are very useful and entertaining.

The app falls into several categories. There are genuine tablet apps- eg those created especially for say the iPad. Then there are those which are made for smartphones which will work on tablets in a slightly different way.

The only problem with the Android tablets is that not every app works on every tablet, so for example while Sky Go happily plays with the Google Nexus 7 it won’t work on the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Anyhow most of these apps will work on most of the tablets. And a good percentage are free too – so what are you waiting for?

The cheapest 10inch tablet so far? The £150 Disgo Tablet 9000

By Stefano on November 19th, 2012

Disgo, makers of an acclaimed, but competitively priced 9104 10inch tablet, are back with a new model. And this time the price has dipped below £150.

Announced today the disgo Tablet 9000. runs the Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, features a 9.7” TN capacitive display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, a 1.0 GHz Boxchip Cortex A8 ARM processor, 1GB DDR3 system memory, 8GB of onboard flash storage and front 0.3MP & 2.0MP rear facing cameras.

Other features include includes access to 1000s of Android Apps, stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone out and built in microphone.

The key difference between this and the company 9104 tablet is that the new model has slightly less memory power and lacks the pricier models software package. Incidentally the 9104 can be bought second hand via Amazon not much more than £100.

I really liked the 9104 and if the 9000 is anywhere near the same standard, then this is a real bargain.

The disgo 9000 is available now from PC World and Currys at an RRP of £149.99.

Luke Noonan, Purchasing Director at disgo, commented: “The disgo 9000 gives those consumers with a slightly lower budget the ability to use and enjoy the fantastic convenience and fun a tablet device can offer. This new addition to the range adheres to the consumer need of an affordable but functional gadget with advanced spec. It’s great for everyday use whether users are watching video, sending email or catching up with friends and family through social networking and email.”
