Mad props goes to My Chemical Toilet’s Stuart Waterman for letting use him as our private Girl’s World doll in our latest video. We tried out a gel tan base, concealer and brow gel for a natural look and you can’t really tell he’s wearing anything. Stay tuned when we add eyeliner and bronzing powder into the mix tomorrow!

On our way back from the Arcadia Press Day we decided to make a detour to the Onitsuka Tiger shop off Carnaby Street to try out their new vending machine. As you can see it’s a quick and easy way to get a new pair of shoes, but hurry, tomorrow is the last day!
Tech Digest’s Kat has embedded the 2nd part of her Tokyo Flash tutorials for your otaku pleasure. She’s showing you how to use two more of their beauteous watches, specifically the ‘Pimp’ and ‘Barcode’ models. Both retail for £99.90, and you can pick them up from Tech Deals.
Tokyo Flash watches at Tech Deals
Our two geeky sisters in the know, Kat from Tech Digest and Susi from Shiny Shiny, recently got their gadget-obsessed hands on a couple of watches from Tokyo Flash, which we’ve featured on the virtual pages of Brandish before.
In this video, they look at the Retsu and Twelve 59 models, available for £75 and £80 respectively, and are perfect for otaku Japanese-loving geeks who don’t need to read the time by just a quick glance – these demand a good 30-second long stare, but gosh do they look groovy.
Made by Michael Gondry? What, this video? Really? I never would have guessed that the director of surreal films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep and of surreal music videos for Bjork and Daft Punk could ever come up with something as head-achingly weird as this. I can’t even tell what this is advertising, it’s just so strange.
If you couldn’t tell, I’m being sarcastic. Of course I know what it’s bloody advertising – the clue is in the great big "RAZR2" slogan and "Motorola" motif that pops up at the end. And it’s not even that weird. Peoples on the internets are so dumb sometimes. Lol. Anyway, it’s still a great video.
I’m not sure what disturbs me more about this video, the implication that baby-son and father must resort to blows in an Oedipal struggle for the mother’s affections, or simply that the kid reminds me of that freaky dancing-baby hallucination from Ally McBeal.
Otherwise, the video, promoting Wilkinson Swords new Quattro blades, is neatly done, and slightly amusing. There’s also a tie-in flash game on the Fight For Kisses website. Beating children has apparently never been so much fun.
Designers of haut couture have been responsible for some pretty weird, wonderful and creative designs in the past. However, none have been so "innovative" and forward thinking as the outfits being created by left-field designer Hussein Chalayan.
Combining Transformers style technology and high fashion, Hussein has managed to come up with some pretty far out designs. And yes, I know there’s no menswear range, but hopefully Hussein will come up with something for us blokes in the future. Like a jacket that turns into a fully-operational Apache gunship.
By the way, if your work place frowns upon nudity, you might want to skip the last 20 seconds.
Proof that the internet is getting more and more ‘meta’ Brickfilms, the masters of Lego animation made a film chronicling the day their server crashed and you can see it here. I know it’s quite girly but although I’m not a particular fan of Grease I’m loving this Lego animation of the Summer Nights scene. It’s hilariously camp and the attention detail is amazing. You can check out tons of Lego animations at the Brickfilms website, I’m a convert!
Check our latest video where we rope in cameraman Ray to review men-u’s concentrated grooming products. Ray gives the products a resounding thumbs-up, which is good because we’ve got a men-u competition coming up. So stay tuned to win some grooming products on Brandish!
Think you’re a fan of Transformers? Think again, these guys have gone to the trouble of making themselves fully functional tranforming costumes. Watch in amazement as they switch from a robot to a plane, truck or cement mixer. The best by far is the Optimus Prime costume, as he transforms into a truck he then wheels himself along the floor. Genius!

Some schoolkids have done an a capella version of the Patrick Wolf song that should have been a huge hit. The Carleton Singing Knights perform the song in their library and make a really good job of it, using their voices to beatbox, sing and provide melody. It’s a crying shame this song was never a massive hit but you can see him on YouTube doing a magnificent cover of "When Doves Cry" with Charlotte Church.
Being a bloke, there is always something better to do than the washing up right? Why don’t you partake in a bit of arts and crafts and make a flipbook? If you upload one to YouTube, link us to it and we’ll feature the best ones!
I borrowed Kim from Catwalk Queen to review some Onitsuka Tiger trainers with me. They’re one of the few casual shoe brands doing anything interesting at the moment, as evidenced by their cool punched leather hi-tops. The other two shoes are variations on the classic Mexico 66 style and make perfect all-rounders.
Here it is, our first grooming video for Brandish where I talk to Shiny’s graphic designer, Sheldon about MD Formulations shaving cream which you can buy for £21.95.
Mario is dead. Don’t cry. Please. You’ll set me off.
