J.Crew and luxury watch retailer Tourneau recently teamed up to reproduce a pair vintage styled watches based on sketches from Parisian watchmaker Mougin & Piquard’s archive.
The watches clearly reflect J.Crew’s design sensibilities while borrowing its style from the pilot watches of the ’20s. The Grand Seconde Watch collection features beautiful outer dials displaying minutes and seconds, accompanied by an inner dial showing the hour. These limited edition watches, handcrafted in Switzerland, are available at J.Crew for $425 USD.

Terry Richardson, yeah the pervy guy behind American Apparel, recently released a double book, called “Mom & Dad.” To launch the book, the world acclaimed photographer Richardson, is exhibiting picture of his parents at the Colotte in Paris.
The exhibition is joined by a small pop-up store, which includes a selection of products such as t-shirts, G-shock and BabyG Casio watches. Despite what we may think of Richardson, these watches are pretty damn cool. The watches come in a brilliant red plaid, mimicking his trademark button-down shirts.
Mom & Dad is being held at Colette now through November 5 and you can purchase the time pieces online and in store today.

Formula 1 fan? Then make sure you check out the Facebook game Casio lauched last month. Users have to try and predict specific race times from each Grand Prix for the chance to winning various prizes, including a VIP trip to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Casio EDIFICE watches and more.
Each week, you are asked to ‘Guess the Time’ of the driver in pole position and the fastest lap time of Casio’s Formula 1 partner Red Bull Racing. Users will be entered into a draw every week they play.
players who guess either time correctly get to go on a tour of the Red Bull Racing factory in Milton Keynes, and the users who come closest each week overall will win one of Casio’s latest EDIFICE watches.
I have had a chance to check out the EDIFICE watch… and trust me they are pretty awesome. You can check out the game here.

Yesterday we went to check out the opening of the Casio G-Shock West store in the heart of Covent Garden.
When we walked in the front door we were greeted by a live street art installation – meant to serve as a dynamic celebration of the transience of the space and G-Shock’s passion for the spontaneous creativity of the underground art scene.

The new store stocks all the latest G-Shock, Baby-G and G-Shock Premium watches. As I mentioned in my article yesterday I have not really been following G-Shock, and honestly did not have huge expectations for the brand. However, any hesitations I once had were completely gone after checking out the new collection. It really feels as though they have given their classic watches new life through new colour ways and shapes.
A definite highlight of the collection was the limited edition collaboration with revered graffiti artist KRINK , the G-Shock DW-6900KR. This watch epitomises the resilience and toughness associated with graffiti culture and blends a classic G-Shock shape with the iconic silver colouring distinctive of KRINK’s style. The watch comes with a number of useful features including water resistance of up to 200 meters, world timer, full auto and flash alert lighting.

One of our team loved the G-Shock DW-6900KR so much, he went back this morning to pick one up
To celebrate the opening of the store, G-Shock will be offering 20% off your first purchase (until May 31st), so get down there soon to check it out.

Ahead of the G-shock West launch tonight in Seven Dials, London, I decided to do a little research and check out some of their latest watches. To be honest I was not really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. One of my favourites is the G-Shock’s GRX-5600, which merges two of the brand’s most iconic styles, the DW-5600 and DW-6900. The result a highly durable watch for those out on the water. It even has the ability to calculate waves with a solar panel for battery collection. Time to hit the beach…

Looking for a new watch with a more grown up look? Then check out the new Pathfinder range from Casio. This watch has all the makings of the G-Shock yet with more mature refinement.
Incorporating a durable casing with some great outdoor functions, including a digital compass, altimeter, thermometer and barometer. Additionally, battery power can be taken in from solar energy thanks to the “Tough Solar” feature.
However, at the end of the day the Pathfinder is a watch, and accuracy is paramount. This is provided by a 6-Band atomic syncing feature which allows radio signals to calibrate the watch – super cool in our opinions!

I recently came across the Nooka Zub Ziric and loved the way it brings functionality and design together. Reading like an analog watch, the 12 dots represent hours while the horizontal row counts minutes, with a small window counting up the seconds. The watch is set in a polyurethane band and features an alarm mode as well as a chronograph mode.
Available here for $130

Scott Wilson, formerly the global creative director for Nike Watches is introducing the TikTok and LunaTik, a wrist dock that will allow you to turn your Nano into a watch.
The TikTok is the cheaper of the two versions, with a plastic band and a snap-in frame inspired by the locking mechanisms found on ski boots. The LunaTik is the more premium case – forged from Aerospace Grade Aluminum and then machined via CNC into its final form. The straps are made from high grade silicone rubber and the hardware is solid stainless steel.
Wilson is using Kickstarter to find people to fund the project. By pledging $25 you are pre-ordering TikTok (which will retail for $34.95) or by pledging $50 you are pre-ordering the LunaTik (which will retail for $69.95). He needed $15K to reach his goal and is currently at $127,024 so we think it’s safe to say we will see production of this project kicking off soon.

Sometimes, its the small details that make an outfit look particularly polished and well thought out. And whilst 80s digital watches are nice, they have become a bit ubiquitous. Striped, military style watch straps – particularly when paired with a vintage watch face – can make a statement. Actually part of the preppy uniform (those bold colours and stripes) and available at stores like Rugby Ralph Lauren in the States, the striped military watch strap can also be found here on grooming site, Carter and Bond. A bargain detail at £15 and worth digging around to find the perfect, vintage watch face to pair it with.

We’re all for giving, but how many times have you been out shopping for someone and bought something for yours truly?
Our Father’s Day gift guide is great if you want to give your dad a push in the right style direction, there’s nothing too out there or kooky, just a few pieces that will give a little panache to dear poppa’s wardrobe. Should the selection be too outlandish for pater then you might even want to snap up some of the items for yourself!
