Get the most out of your shopping trip with the Westfield app for your iPhone

By shinychris on July 3rd, 2013

Westfield LondonSponsored post

Ever visited a Westfield Shopping centre? Well there are now four in the UK – two in London (the original centre in White City and the fabulous Stratford City centre by the Olympic Park) one in Derby and another in Birmingham.

If you are planning a trip, or you are just curious about cool new shopping apps, then download the new Westfield app for your iPhone.

Not only is the app a superb companion for your visit with, for example, details of route-finding and restaurant reservations, it also delivers a fully personalised shopping experience to you on your mobile.

You simply swipe the brands that you like and this then creates a list of your interests. Using those interests, the app will then keep you up to date with the latest news events, and of course, all the offers available from over 500 retailers. And some of those offers can be redeemed in store when you visit.

Perfect for Brandish readers, the app is fantastic for making sure that when you drop into a Westfield centre you really do get the most out of your trip. It also has the basics covered too, including a store finder and map of the centres. There’s even a parking feature which makes it easy for you to find your car.

It is free so click on this link to download it now:

10 fashion items that your bloke (not so) secretly hates

By Stefano on November 23rd, 2012

Guest blogger Becca Caddy writes…

We’re guessing that many of you will have been down at the pub when a debate kicks off about why women dress a certain way, whether it’s always to please men, please themselves or show off in front of their mates (or secret answer d. all of the above)

Well we’re not psychologists, so can’t give you a definitive answer, but whether guys play a role in how women dress or not, it’s pretty clear some sartorial choices that are really popular among womenkind really REALLY irritate some men.

We conducted a study (OK, so we asked our Facebook and Twitter mates) into which style choices women make that really get to blokes and as you’d expect there’s some of the usual suspects, some surprise appearances and some that were just far too explicit to include.

Men, prepare to get agitated and angry, women, do whatever you like and never feel like you have to throw away those old UGGs that smell like wet dogs just to please a guy…

Thanks to everyone who got back to us, we’ve included some of your quotes throughout the gallery, but do let us know in the comments below if there are any we’ve missed out.

10. Gillets

The frustration with gillets spans both genders because, let's face it, they're not full pieces of clothing. If you're warm enough to wrap your body up into a torso-shaped quilt you'll probably need your arms covering too, but not with a gillet, a gillet makes sure your vital organs are snuggly but does away with those not-so-important limbs of yours. The gillet is a favourite among posh birds who may also be wearing an "I own a yacht" style hoody their daddy paid for, but men tend to deplore them because they take away any hint of the female form and make you look a bit too much like the Michelin man or a guy with a stately home who's taking his dogs out hunting. Oh and did we also mention it's not an actual piece of clothing? So ladies, we can't even get out the "oh it's so practical and cosy and comfy" card, because it's not. It's just a non-thing that could (maybe) give you frostbite. And no guy wants a girl without arms.
