rockebony.jpgClarks release a bang on trend version of their classic Wallabee style. Incorporating the fashion for hiking inspired footwear, the metal eyelets and hiker laces in a traditional hiking colourway make for one of the best Wallabee releases in a while. Available at Hanon for £79.95.

Clarks Originals Desert Mali.

clarkdesert.jpgClarks have released the Desert Mali boot which was first introduced in 1967. The silhouette is the same as their classic desert boot with a higher calf and the premium suede they are made out of means that at £89 these will make a valuable addition to your winter wardrobe.

Trend: Creeper Boots.

| | Comments (2)

creeper.jpgOnce popular with the teddy-boys of the sixties, creepers are making a mainstream return into menswear. Reworked into contemporary designs, the creeper sole is the common denominator in all of these styles and is a progression of the clumpy sole trend that's been about for a while now. Named after their crepe souls the creeper shoe looks set to be big this winter and although the classic brothel creepers aren't much to look at, Opening Ceremony have reworked them into a desert boot style to fit the origins of the creeper on the feet of soldiers in North Africa during the Second World War. The boots are available in natural suede or black from The GoodHood Store.

Dr. Martens SS11 Collection Preview At Hypebeast.

| | Comments (1)

dm1.jpegHypebeast has posted photos of the DM SS range for 2011. Mirroring the more fashion forward approach to their designs over the past few seasons, brogues and oxford shoes in the same DM silhouette are going to be available which harks back to the authentic skinheads of the 60's but I have to say, the two tone and brogues aren't too hot. Highlights are the canvas low chukka shoe and the use of red brick soles which is bang on trend. More images after the jump.

H By Hudson Mestique Boat Boots.

| | Comments (1)

hudson2.jpgMenswear lately has become saturated with contemporary takes on moccasins and boat shoes. There are dozens of styles to choose from and I usually loo at them in despair, but the latest offerings from H by Hudson are unbelievably amazing. Carrying on with my slightly worrying theme of winter clothing, this style would be perfect. The shape of the Mestique Boat Boots couldn't be better. Not too clumpy or skinny, with five eyelets and a less rounded and less square toe than usual, I need to stop talking about them because I've already said the words perfect and amazing.hudson3.jpeg

Toms Seaport Canvas Slip On

| | Comments (0)

toms2.jpgThese are definitely loud and would definitely require you to take a muted approach to the rest of your outfit, but unlike plimsolls which got old as soon as the high-street started to mess about with any colour other than black or white, this is a good chance to stay ahead of the game. Toms are without doubt the finest espadrilles out their and bridge the gap nicely from the throwaway pairs on the high street to the designer offerings from Paul Smith and Kitsuné. It's an almost Aztec print and they (for the moment) offer a nice new spice to the espadrille world. They are available at Oak.

Zuriick Shoes

shoe.jpgSince 2005 Zuriick have been making light, slim and beautiful made shoes. With their thin soles and contrasting panels these have a look about them which is laid back yet at the same time they look smart and look premium. These two leather examples above would be perfect for most of your summer soirees because you could wear them equally with shorts, chinos even tailored trousers. One thing I would recommend though is that you don't wear socks with them. Available from ASOS.

Adidas 'Sumner' Desert Boot.

| | Comments (1)

adidas.jpegAdidas are blurring the line between trainers and shoes. The silhouettes that they have been releasing this season, most notably including some particularly fine decks in collaboration with Ransom show a company that is constantly pushing new boundaries in what is expected of sneaker companies. They are available at Size! now. (If it hasn't become clear yet, I am having a massive cobalt blue phase at the moment.)

Office 'Ask The Missus' Cobalt Blue Desert Boots.

| | Comments (0)

office.jpegThese desert boots by Ask The Missus at Office are one of my picks for the summer. There is a real charm to wearing desert boots with turn ups and no socks and the bold colour which usually works best on sneakers is becoming increasingly popular in more formal, traditional shoes such as the Paul Smith deck shoes from this time last year.

Quoddy Moccasins, Chukkas and Boots.

quoddy.jpgThe trend for native American inspired pieces continues and American based label Quoddy takes their name from the old Passamaquoddy tribe. With an expertise in handsewn craftsmanship, the company has been making shoes since 1909. They believe in the old practice of one workman to one pair of shoes, doing the whole process, so these are of a fantastic quality. I particularly love the 'Grizzly' boots, partly because they remind me of the Shofolk 'Andre' shoes but with a slightly nicer toe. They are going to be available at End Clothing on 9th of April.

sperry.jpegThe Sperry collaboration with Scott Sternberg from Band Of Outsiders continues for another season. The deck boots of last summer sparked a huge trend and this season, the boots are back in a black gingham and I don't know if it's me being taken aback by how nice the colourway is in contrast to the colour blocking they did on some of last seasons models, but are the nicest deck boots so far. The penny loafers are also back with an all suede upper, canvas lining and Sperry deck sole. They come either navy, or brown. My favorite piece in the collection is the emerald green deck shoes above. The upper is washed out rough nylon and suede, they have a canvas lining and three eyelets. They are the most beautiful shape, and although deck shoes might be going a bit stale this summer, with Sperry X Band of Outsiders, your feet will look as fresh as anything. All the styles mentioned are available to view in the gallery and are now being stocked by Colette.

I also found this A-Z of summer video using Band Of Outsiders clothes from the Spring 2009 collection, it's a short, charming motion graphics piece and was made after the creator did an internship with the company.
