This season is one of continued focus on shape; the tulip skirt, the peplum, the over-sized collar. I have always leaned towards a slimmer-fit for hoodies and trousers but this season I plan to try something new. This ‘Panda‘ hoodie from Bape fits the bill perfectly, it is quite baggy and voluminous but it has a fitted waist resulting in a highly fashionable silhouette.

There are two types of the hoodie (one in fleece and one in cotton) and four possible colours (although the black is exclusive to the Bape store in Aoyama, Japan! Buy now for pre-Pharrell originality!

New Bape store coming to London, did you know?

By Jonathan Smith on August 13th, 2008

bapestore.jpgI found out about this a few months ago from a PR, so naturally assumed everybody knew about it. I think I may have been wrong as I cant find any details about it on the information super highway, except for this post on nylonmag.com.

According to nylonmag.com the new store will be bigger and better than the current London store, taking inspiration from the Tokyo mega-store which along with a massive range of A Bathing Ape apparel has a cafe, art gallery and hair salon. The store is scheduled to open in 2009 so you’ll have to wait a while to get a purple camo burger, but it does sound really cool even if you’re not keen on the Ape.

I’ll keep you posted with any more information I can glean, perhaps from the horses mouth: get me a phone and the number of A Bathing Ape’s PR, I’m getting some answers!

Forget members of the public and imagine more the likes of Mike Tyson, Nicole Richie and Japanese fashion-darling artist Takashi Murakami. There was no M&S mob or Primark-passionates but only those able to afford the “diamond-encrusted A Bathing Ape Casio watch customized by Jacob the Jeweler” (*cough cough* Pharrell.) The store opened on Wednesday night in West Hollywood and looks set to only expand the brand beloved of fashion-followers everywhere.
