Brand Spotlight
By cchapman on July 16th, 2009
Two introductions today, just in time for lunchtime browsing – a look ahead to Folk‘s AW09 collection and a lovely site to preview the upcoming goodies. The Folk brand can always be relied upon to provide simple, no fuss clothing and accessories with a great use of colour. And AW09 looks like being no exception to the rule. Meanwhile, newly-discovered menswear store End Clothing is a revelation. Simple, clean navigation and a fantastic range of menswear on the casual-sportswear-outdoor-streetwear trajectory, I’ve found this site a pleasure to browse.
Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne the store is the online arm of a physical shop with a great attitude about it and an impressive range of top-end streetwear brands. Clearly a work of love, this is very refreshing and definitely one to bookmark. From the Folk collection, the lovely primary colour rain macs, belts and checked grandad shirts have caught my eye. Pieces from the collection have been lovingly styled together on the End Clothing blog.
Here’s to simplicity.

Clothing, Coats & Jackets, Designer Spotlight

This season is proving to be perfect for style-conscious men looking for a new sartorial direction. From Marni to Jil Sander, men are being given a chance to look top notch and whereas some seasons simply leave us to stick to a stereotypical male uniform, A/W 2009 looks to be the return of fashion flamboyance.
This velvet trench-coat from Dolce & Gabbana is gloriously over-the-top but allows men to be men with its razor-sharp tailoring and Oscar-Wilde cool (just for the record, I realise not everyone will see Oscar Wilde as a style icon and as a result- this coat is maybe not for you!) Straight off the runway at the moment, the trench will no doubt cost a fortune in the shops but keep your eyes peeled for celeb sightings!

Clothing, Designer Spotlight, Polls
By Will Reid on January 19th, 2009
The Burberry Prorsum A/W 2009 show has been going down a storm on the Internet with buyers and fashion critics air-kissing in delighted agreement as they plan their wardrobes for seasons to come (guilty as charged.) Apart from the amazing padded jackets and sharp tailoring, one of the things that has most caught my attention is the subtle return of the infamous check print. The beige tartan-esque print has, in recent years, become a taboo of the fashion industry but designer Christopher Bailey appears to have decided that the time has come for a major return.
What do you think- are you ready to show-off the check print? Vote in our poll after the jump!

men.style.com have posted their fashion forecast for 2009 and it looks like we will be wearing floral print with holes in our shoes this year. As forecasts go I think it’s a little hit and miss, yes plaid is here to stay and mismatching suit jacket/pants seem to be pretty hot right now but I can’t see myself in a pair of perforated winkle pickers I’m afraid.
Check out the whole run down here.

The folks at Selectism have been going crazy over Lanvin‘s AW accessories and it’s easy to see why.
The feathered ties above are just a taster of the exciting eye candy on offer from the French label. I’m a bit of an Alber Elbaz fangirl at the best of times but even the haters (is there such a thing as Elbaz haters?!) can agree this isn’t a collection to be sniffed at. The copper embroidered lace ups are the height of dandy chic and I love the retro stylings of the tinted sunnies. Other highlights in this collection include reassuringly thick soled suede lace-ups, chain mail scarves and covetable bags.
