Kings of Leon tipped to wear Burberry at Brits tonight

News just in that the Kings of Leon are going to be dressed by Burberry this evening at the Brits.

The ‘are they aren’t they’ band of brothers have been nominated for Best International Act alongside Fleet Foxes and MGMT. They’re also up for and Best International Album this evening so hopefully Burberry will have them looking their best should Matthew Horne, Kylie or James Corden (all presenting tonight) summon them onstage.

Wonder if Christopher Bailey himself will be there primping the trio before the evening kicks off?

Brandish Question: Are Your Favourite Labels Ruined By Celebs?

By Will Reid on February 12th, 2009

wenn2282109.jpgI hate to admit it but fashion weeks kill me. They really do. Don’t get me wrong- I love the glamour, the fabrics, the details, the models and every other part of the fashion seasons. But it gives me a pain in the very bottom of my heart when I realise that the glorious clothes I drool over and dream about will only end up on the Jonas Brothers 2 months later.

Case in point: Joe Jonas (above center) in Burberry at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday. That brilliant and rather glorious, embossed silk jacket should be mine! What do you think-can clothes be ruined by the celebs who choose to wear them?

Doylesays: Buck’s editor/publisher starts a blog

By Colin Chapman on January 23rd, 2009

buck_Steve_Doyle.jpg

Launched on the back of the latest updates over at Buckstyle.com, (the online face of top newish men’s mag, Buck) is a new blog by Buck’s publisher/editor Steve Doyle. Something of an enigma, little is known about Mr Doyle other than he’s not only editor of Buck but also its publisher having been inspired to create the magazine of his dreams during his time spent living in Japan.

The latter experience is already bearing fruit as Doyle explains the origins of a key accessory from Christopher Bailey’s latest Burberry Prorsum men’s collection: the Japanese knitted cummerbund. The blog’s other stated purpose is to give us the lowdown on his experience of setting up Buck, or in his words ‘the complete randomness of publishing a magazine’. Given the warm reception (and impressive distribution) of Buck to date, Mr Doyle’s blog promises to be interesting.

Yay or Nay: The Return of THAT Print?

By Will Reid on January 19th, 2009

burberry.jpgThe Burberry Prorsum A/W 2009 show has been going down a storm on the Internet with buyers and fashion critics air-kissing in delighted agreement as they plan their wardrobes for seasons to come (guilty as charged.) Apart from the amazing padded jackets and sharp tailoring, one of the things that has most caught my attention is the subtle return of the infamous check print. The beige tartan-esque print has, in recent years, become a taboo of the fashion industry but designer Christopher Bailey appears to have decided that the time has come for a major return.

What do you think- are you ready to show-off the check print? Vote in our poll after the jump!

The Good and The Bad and Ugly from the GQ Man Of The Year Awards 2008

By Jonathan Smith on September 3rd, 2008

Mark Ronson.jpgLast night The Royal Opera House, London saw the GQ men of the year awards. I wasn’t invited let alone nominated which of course draws a question mark over the validity of the event, however that aside it still proves to be a great opportunity for the men of London and the world to get up and be counted for style and talent. Some of the more interesting awards went to the following: International Man – Josh Brolin, Most Stylish Man – Brandon Flowers, Designer – Christopher Bailey, Politician – Boris Johnson (really? I mean seriously though, really?) and Radio Personality – Chris Evans (again: really? I mean radio yes but personality? I wouldn’t have thought so).

The outfits worn at the event all aired on the subtle side but there was a good range of style from damn awful to “DAMN! You look good bro!” Jump through for my selection of the good and the bad and ugly.
