Supreme is at it again this time partnering up with Levi’s on their new capsule collection for Fall/Winter 2011. The collection features a number of standard staples from the American denim giant, including Levi’s 505 Zip-Fly Jean, a Chambray Work Shirt, a Trucker Jacket in leather and suede, a Denim Down Vest and Denim Bell Hat. Although I love the …
A few weeks we announced that the upcoming fall/winter +J collection for Uniqlo would be the last. The lookbook is now out, and I have to say this is possibly the strongest collection yet. There has undeniably been plenty of hype surrounding this final collection, but I can’t get enough of the contrasting colors, linear cuts and the mix of …
Today H&M and David Beckham announced they are teaming up to produce a new Bodywear range. The line is expected to be released on February 14, 2011 in 1,800 stores spread across 40 countries. This deal apparently marks the beginning of a new long-term partnership between one of the worlds largest fashion retailers and one of the world’s most recognizable …
Jeremy Scott has collaborated with Adidas Originals on the latest apparel and footwear series. Scott, always the controversial figure, has come up with a truly eccentric line with clear punk and military influences. The Outlandish garments include multi-colored trousers, tartan, a skeleton hoodie, shoe-print mac and a french fry tracksuit among other crazy prints. The line is expected to be …
Rough Cut: Steven Alan for Nike Sportswear from Cool Hunting on Vimeo. We absolutely love the new Steven Alan collection for Nike Sportswear launched today. The five styles all draw on Nike’s archives and add Steven’s impeccably clean twist, resulting in great classic shoes. Cool Hunting, had the chance to sit down with Steven Alan to talk about the collection. …
Raf Simons is back once again with mod father Fred Perry to bring their SS09 collab. Moving away from the monotone of previous seasons these power houses of style are moving into the exciting unknown with a vibrant colour palette taking it’s inspiration from West African culture.
Futura is one of the worlds most prolific graffiti artists up to his eyeballs in collaborations and creating new designs for his own label Futura Laboratories. Now the man from UNKLE is hitting up the mainstream with his latest collab with British childhood favorites Clarks. Futura has added his own trademark touch to the iconic Wallabee, painting and tagging the canvas upper of this streetwear monolith creating something that the hip hoppers and street boppers (what?) are going to be stumbling over their Levi’s Vintage to get their hands on.
As videos go this one is kinda dull. There are no explosions, guns or tits nor is there a girl satisfying a horse/dog/herself (delete as applicable) so it’s doubtful that this is the kind of fodder we would usually ogle on our TV’s or behind our bedroom’s locked door. However there are shoes, lots of lovely shoes. The video is from Band of Outsiders and showcases their collabo with Sperry bringing some awesome deck shoes for the coming season.
Now we know that Bush is out of office in just over a month and that the good ship McCaine has been sunk we can now look back with nostalgia at good old George W. and in the twilight months of his presidency he gives us the wittiest and quickest remark he has ever mustered: “If you want to know the facts, it’s a size 10 shoe.” – standing ovation please.
Day glo maniacs Cassette Playa have got together with sports brand and street fashion monoliths Nike to bring you a special edition Nike Blazer. In Cassette Playa’s typically painful colours these sneakers were first seen as part of Carri Munden’s Spring/Summer 2008 “Future Primitive” runway show earlier this year but will now be made available from Nike Sportswear 1948 store at Bateman’s Row, Shoreditch as well as other select Nike retailers. For those uninterested in the shoe itself perhaps the video above may pique your interest; Carri Munden talks about her brand (Cassette Playa– doye!) and her upcoming collaboration- if you can spare 1 minute 54 seconds it’s worth a peek.
In September we told you about the multitude of special edition and collaborated Converse that were hitting shop shelves this A/W, here’s a quick update on my pick of the lot. The Wood Wood All Star, made from mono purple suede and brandishing Wood Wood logo on the tongue is now set for release state side tomorrow from DQM.
For a third season Danish designer Peter Jensen and British label Fred Perry are working together on an old staple; the Harrington jacket. Coming in red, black and a very current gingham Jensen is up to standard in his attention to detail with the classic jacket receiving a super-sizing to the pockets and laurel.
As you may be aware the original Air Sole is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Dr Martens are back in fashion with a design that has changed little in over 60 years, though Yohji Yamamoto and his team of design wizards has tweaked the design classic with a special Y’s collection Calf High Biker Boot and 10 Eye Boot. Available in both black and blue- check out these icons of utilitarian style out after the jump.
Love him or lothe him, Pharrell Williams is a style force to be reckoned with, as is his clothing line Billionaire Boys Club. As part of their A/W 2008 line BBC has collaborated with the artist Rockin’ Jelly Bean on this pair of crew neck sweaters, available in white and grey and costing a recession ignoring $190 they are a really nice piece and a potential collectors item.
A few weeks ago we gave you previews of the Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals collab and I for one didn’t much like it. This week highsnobiety has got their hands on a tiny preview of Adidas Originals’ colabs with Alyasha (from Fiberops) and Kazuki (from Fragment Design). Though this preview is limited to one pic of each, the pieces look good and far better than the Jeremy Scott collaboration- i.e. no leopard print in sight.
