The massive queue, deep in denim conversation.
As we arrived to Neal Street this morning the queue outside the Diesel shop snaked around Earlham Street and almost spilled out onto Seven Dials.
The fuss was for Diesel’s Dirty Thirty limited edition jeans, created to celebrate thirty years of diesel, modelled by Daisy Lowe and retailing for just £30 you can see why so many people turned up for the one-day only sale. 160 Diesel shops are taking part in the promotion, and we stopped to chat to the patient shoppers at the Covent Garden store.

Jeans & Trousers, Polls, Trends

Drop-crotch jeans have been dubbed the ‘future of denim’ and ‘the next skinny jean.’ I am an unbelievable skinny devotee (yes, I am scarred after wearing them in Summer-heat London and not even joking) and for this reason, I decided to road-test an exclusive pre-production sample pair from Trousers London. Read on for the full report with street-style pics, interviews, comments and product details.

After reading Dave Walker from Modculture’s comment on my tassel loafers post I had a look a the J.Simons website and what a treat it is! You really get a feel for his commitment to style and passion, and John himself has some really great stories from his youth:
“At 23, ambition started to creep in. We began copying American clothes, getting little old ladies to make them up for us. Next to the Hackney Empire we opened a shop and called it Clothesville. We’d take things like the Burberry raincoat and give it a twist, do it in corduroy.”
John went on to open The Ivy Shop in ’65 selling American clothing to young mods.
