A Comic Love The Look: Dom Joly is MC Hammer on ‘Let’s Dance for Comic Relief ’09′

By Will Reid on March 11th, 2009

lovethelook.jpgThis year’s Red Nose Day campaign is in full-swing and everyone from Fearne Cotton to Fern Britten is doing something funny for money. Dom Joly, the comic-genius and all-round bon viveur behind Trigger Happy TV, has joined the show Comic Relief show ‘Let’s Dance’ and last Saturday we saw him imitate the style and dance of the infamous MC Hammer.

To achieve the Hammer-style, Joly donned a pair of rather hideous Harem pants in the ever-popular gold lamé. Add chains, hi-tops and logo-print headbands and you have yourself a RND look. Remember, everyone loves the funny man!

Why not do something for Comic Relief yourself?

Dance sequence from Humse Hai Muqabala shows how to wear double pleat trousers

By admin on May 19th, 2008

You might be forgiven for thinking that my reasons for putting this video up are slightly self-indulgent, but you’d be wrong. Of course it’s an amazing video -featuring Prabhudeva who is apparently one of the best dancers, but if you pay attention to the main male characters’ lower half you’ll notice they are wearing some rather fetching double pleat trousers.
I’ve seen quite a few people carry off voluminous pleated trousers, but honestly, if you want a guide on how to look good in your neo-baggies then take a tip from these guys.

Dazed & Confused: Kevin May 2008

By Will Reid on April 11th, 2008

dazed.JPGWhat do you get when you combine a fashion director, a fairly underground-style publication, techno dancers and new fashion? No, not a waft of nostalgia (at least I should hope not) and not a drug-fuelled roller-disco but the latest Dazed & Confused cover.

This is big not only because Dazed has decided to give a male model its cover but also because this male model is an unknown. In fact according to the notorious fashion grapevine, Kevin is not a model at all but a dancer caught up in “Tecktonick” (a dance supposedly all the rage in France!)

Read on for the full editorial and more on the issue.
