He’s more commonly seen wearing Rolexes, like the Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA Watch, but now the part time LA Galaxy footballer and style icon David Beckham has been named the face of Breitling’s Transocean Chronograph Unitime worldtimer watch (phew that’s a mouthful). Launched earlier this year, the Transocean Chronograph Unitime is equipped with the new Manufacture Breitling Caliber B05and features a double disk enabling permanent readings of the time in all 24 timezones – handy if you are the globe trotting Beckham I’m sure.
Shot o the runway of the Mojave Air & Space Port in California by renowned American photographer Anthony Mandler the striking images below show Beckham standing in front of a private jet wearing his Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch. “I’ve always been a long-time admirer of Breitling”, said David Beckham. “As a company they create not only the highest-performance watches but also timeless designs that have inspired generations. It was a natural choice for me to partner with this fantastic brand.”
Unfortunately not everyone on Breitling’s Facebook‘s page is so enthusiastic about Beckham’s endorsement, one writing ‘That’s 150 odd years of reputation down the drain’ and another ‘It’s time to change the brand of watches’ Oh well can’t please everyone.

Adidas have rolled out the much anticipated third installment of the popular David Beckham / Design by J. Bond collection for Fall/Winter 2011.
The collaboration between sport and style icon David Beckham and Undefeated founder James Bond has been widely celebrated in the past, and will yet again see a contemporary range of footwear, outerwear, and accessories.
Much of the inspiration has clearly been pulled from collegiate imagery and has a very traditional American sportswear feel to it. This is something we have seen a lot of in the last two seasons. The varsity jacket in particular seems to be making a comeback. What do you make of this trend – will you be rocking the look this Fall/Winter?

Today H&M and David Beckham announced they are teaming up to produce a new Bodywear range. The line is expected to be released on February 14, 2011 in 1,800 stores spread across 40 countries. This deal apparently marks the beginning of a new long-term partnership between one of the worlds largest fashion retailers and one of the world’s most recognizable sporting icons. We can’t wait to see the results.

Tattoo artist Lou Molloy has just launched his first menswear collection. For those not familiar this is the tattoo artist responsible for David Beckham’s tattoos. He also stared on the TV show London Ink.
The collection features classical-style line drawings and detailed shading, a key element of Lou’s style, in neutrals, khakis and crisp white colorways. Developed in Manchester, pieces including cardigans, polos and jumpers and brings together street style and renaissance inspired art.

David Beckham is already promoting Adidas’ athletic and football ranges, and now he is chipping in with design too.
The football star has teamed up with cult sneaker expert James Bond on a range of menswear for Adidas Originals. Beckham is a known regular at Bond’s Undefeated store in Los Angeles and after a little matchmaking by Adidas, the two ended up working together. The collection take timeless sportswear styles and updates them with on-trend details and luxe fabrics like leather, silk, and cashmere. Similarly the footwear is an updated take on the classic Adidas models and the range also features accessories and thermal layers.

The sad news yesterday was that Arena magazine has been closed down by publisher Bauer Media. The magazine has been running for 22 years and it has always been BOT (Bang On Trend) despite rapidly falling circulation figures in recent years.
The April issue of the magazine is due out next week and rumours are flying that this issue will be the last. Thankfully for our fashion flames, the magazine’s diffusion mag, (if you could call it that,) Arena Homme Plus, will continue on.

From Catwalk Queen: Individually, both Victoria and David Beckham have appeared in just their pants for Armani. Now, the famous husband and wife have joined forces to promote Emporio Armani underwear. Photographed once again by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the couple are shown lounging in a hotel room. The new ad was unveiled this week during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. The complete print campaign is due for release later this year.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have appeared in the latest issue of New York Times T Style looking actually quite alright in full-on Old-Hollywood shots by the genius fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo. The pair look as if they have stepped off a film set in sharp tailoring and, after all those Scientology-maniac rumours, it seems quite fitting that they take the covers of the magazine’s ‘Reinvention Issue.’

David Beckham’s possible January loan to AC Milan is big news in football but all I can think about is whether he’ll start dressing more like an Italian… hey, even James Bond, the quintessential English gent wears Brioni.
I’m hoping we’ll see pictures of him at Pitti Uomo hanging out with Kanye West and Gianni Versace. Much better than Tom Cruise as a fashion buddy anyday; L.A’s loss is Milan’s gain so fingers crossed!
