He’s more commonly seen wearing Rolexes, like the Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA Watch, but now the part time LA Galaxy footballer and style icon David Beckham has been named the face of Breitling’s Transocean Chronograph Unitime worldtimer watch (phew that’s a mouthful). Launched earlier this year, the Transocean Chronograph Unitime is equipped with the new Manufacture Breitling Caliber B05and features a double disk enabling permanent readings of the time in all 24 timezones – handy if you are the globe trotting Beckham I’m sure.

Shot o the runway of the Mojave Air & Space Port in California by  renowned American photographer Anthony Mandler the striking images below show Beckham standing in front of a private jet wearing his Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch. “I’ve always been a long-time admirer of Breitling”, said David Beckham. “As a company they create not only the highest-performance watches but also timeless designs that have inspired generations. It was a natural choice for me to partner with this fantastic brand.”

Unfortunately not everyone on Breitling’s Facebook‘s page is so enthusiastic about Beckham’s endorsement, one writing ‘That’s 150 odd years of reputation down the drain’ and another ‘It’s time to change the brand of watches’ Oh well can’t please everyone.

Adidas Originals by Originals James Bond for David Beckham 2011 Fall/Winter

By Laura on October 16th, 2011

Adidas have rolled out the much anticipated third installment of the popular David Beckham / Design by J. Bond collection for Fall/Winter 2011.

The collaboration between sport and style icon David Beckham and Undefeated founder James Bond has been widely celebrated in the past, and will yet again see a contemporary range of footwear, outerwear, and accessories.

Much of the inspiration has clearly been pulled from collegiate imagery and has a very traditional American sportswear feel to it. This is something we have seen a lot of in the last two seasons. The varsity jacket in particular seems to be making a comeback. What do you make of this trend – will you be rocking the look this Fall/Winter?

Arena Magazine Closes Down

By Will Reid on March 5th, 2009

ArenaCoverDec460.jpgThe sad news yesterday was that Arena magazine has been closed down by publisher Bauer Media. The magazine has been running for 22 years and it has always been BOT (Bang On Trend) despite rapidly falling circulation figures in recent years.

The April issue of the magazine is due out next week and rumours are flying that this issue will be the last. Thankfully for our fashion flames, the magazine’s diffusion mag, (if you could call it that,) Arena Homme Plus, will continue on.

Check back to Brandish for a full review of the possible final issue next week!

Tom Cruise: New York Times T Style- Holiday 2008

By Will Reid on December 8th, 2008

dl.jpgTom Cruise and Katie Holmes have appeared in the latest issue of New York Times T Style looking actually quite alright in full-on Old-Hollywood shots by the genius fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo. The pair look as if they have stepped off a film set in sharp tailoring and, after all those Scientology-maniac rumours, it seems quite fitting that they take the covers of the magazine’s ‘Reinvention Issue.’

See after the jump for all the pics from the editorial!

GQ has reached the grand old age of twenty, which is no mean feat in this age of declining circulations and competition from the web. The December 2008 anniversary issue has all manner of specialness to recommend it.

For a goldenballed kick-off it’s got David Beckham on the cover. Then there’s the fact that it’s physically the largest edition of the magazine it its history, with 582 pages and a spine measuring 21 MILLIMETRES. Make sure you enter that last stat into your “Fashion Mag Spine Size” wallchart.

Moncler puffa jacket from Start

By admin on October 28th, 2008

moncler grey wool jacket puffa puffer start.jpgMoncler have done for the puffa jacket what David Beckham did for ponytails when he moved to Real Madrid.

Their Gamme Rouge collection for women has elevated the simple puffer to a work of art, and while this Moncler jacket (£785) isn’t on a one-way journey to Kookytown it’s pretty special.

Featuring an impressive 220 grams of down in each jacket and a hidden elasticised waistband this ain’t no NAFF Co 54 market offering that will leave you shivering at the bus stop. The grey wool is a smart choice easily taking you from the rugged outdoors to the city in one fell swoop.

If David Beckham moves to Milan will he visit Pitti Uomo?

By admin on October 22nd, 2008

David Beckham’s possible January loan to AC Milan is big news in football but all I can think about is whether he’ll start dressing more like an Italian… hey, even James Bond, the quintessential English gent wears Brioni.

I’m hoping we’ll see pictures of him at Pitti Uomo hanging out with Kanye West and Gianni Versace. Much better than Tom Cruise as a fashion buddy anyday; L.A’s loss is Milan’s gain so fingers crossed!
