Raf Simons teams up with Doc Martens

Another day, another Raf Simons collaboration, this time with Doc Martens. We can’t wait till this one hits the stores, the metallic tones work so well with the hardwearing DM leather and I’m sure they’ll look even better with wear. Our favourite piece is the two-tone boot, pewter and gold never looked so good. Stick around to see our previews from all the press days tomorrow, including Billionaire Boys Club, Ermenegildo Zegna and more.

We also love the pointed shoes underneath. So chunky! So lace-y! So buckle-y!

Love The Look: Men at Kris Van Assche, Paris

The Kris Van Assche show was bound to attract some of the fash-pack’s best-dressing men and with the help of The Sartorialist, we need not fly to Paris to savour the front-row fashion savoir-faire.

These guys are both rocking fairly androgynous looks and as Isabelle mentioned earlier, it’s no secret that Doc Martens are the industry’s hot (but slowly cooling) item. I like the other man’s over-sized bag but what interests me the most is his headscarf. D&G featured Queen-chic headscarves on their runway last season and being of Scottish origin, I fail to not feel a slight home-sickness when faced with high-fashion previously seen in my gran’s wardrobe.

Fashion inspiration comes when you least expect it!

Alden cordovan lace-up boots from Browns

By admin on September 29th, 2008

DMs are back in fashion but they can look a little clompy for everyday wear. Alden’s lace-up boot hits the ankle at the perfect spot for teaming with rolled-up trousers for an unbeatable look.

The cordovan horsehide is extremely waterproof and polishes up to a great finish making it the ideal winter boot. Coffee-brown laces are a wonderful touch and look great with the black leather, proving that black and brown can go well together. These boots aren’t cheap at £505 but will make an investment that will last years, snap them up from Browns.
