Brandish Poll: The Met, the Models, the Mess! Keifer Sutherland and Jack McCullough Brawl?

By Will Reid on May 7th, 2009

brandishtees.jpgIn the aftermath of the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, fashionistos/as across the world have been gorging over that turban, Madonna’s wackiness, Rihanna’s brilliant tux and Naomi’s beautiful boycott. However, it emerged today that off the red carpet a fight was on and statements are being made across the fashion universe in response to reports that Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCullough was headbutt by 24′s Keifer Sutherland after McCullough supposedly knocked Brooke Shields over.

Surely not, I hear you cry. But yes, McCullough’s rep has confirmed today that “anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly…all we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of the authorities.” How delightful!

The question stands- are you Team McCullough or Team Sutherland?

On Thursday Uniqlo plan to give away 4,000 gift packs as part of their Heat Tech launch. Apparently in Japan Heat Tech is as popular as a cup of tea when it comes to keeping you warm, the fabric absorbs moisture and converts it into heat combined with an exciting mix of milk proteins which ensures a snug fit.

Their London store is being turned into a giant vending machine with thermograph imaging monitors to capture customers cold/hot spots. To be in with a chance of snagging a goodie bag on Thursday head down to their Oxford Street store and make sure you look chilly so the silver jumpsuited Heat Tech team take pity on you!

Love The Look: Menswear Maestro Michael Bastian at Fashion Rocks

Condé Nast’s fifth Fashion Rocks event was hardly devoid of well-dressed men: Valentino, Justin Timberlake (who’s fashion-savvy has become a matter of debate…well, for me anyway,) Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford (who’s rumoured to have scored an up-coming VMAN cover.) My point is that, for a menswear designer, Michael Bastian more than held his own in this pantheon of celebs.

I love his vintage-looking blazer as well as his loafers and with an open shirt and a pair of well-tailored grey shorts, he is a vision of relaxed but high-fashion cool.

Notice the subtle pocket-square (an emblem of any well-dressed male) and devour this style inspiration.
