Storm Watches reveal AW2012 Black, Remex and Dualtec styles

By Gerald Lynch on October 11th, 2012

We love our British brands here at Brandish, and there’s no wristwatch house here in Blighty we love more than Storm. Revealing their 2012 range, we wen’t down to see their AW2012 collection at a preview event in London today. Combining retro mechanical aesthetics alongside items with a more futuristic feel, there’s something for everyone this year. We’ve picked out our favourites from the bunch below, but scroll to the bottom of the post for a gallery taking in the entire range.

Top of the line (and top of the price range) is the Storm Black Aquatec. Pictured above, it’s made using sapphire glass with a rotating ceramic bezel, sitting on the chunkier side of this year’s slim-wrist trend. Water resistant to up to 200M, it’s a toughie too, letting you take a dive without having to lose track of time. You’re looking at £239.99 for the white version, or £259.99 for the black edition.

If you like a traditional clockwork design, the special edition Storm Dualtec will catch your eye. Using a multi-layerd cog and gear face, it too is water resistant, this time up to 50m. The Dualtec comes in two colours, black or brown, and will set you back £159.99 or £179.99 respectively.

Moving from the classic styles to more modern designs, the Storm Remex is probably our favourite from the whole line. Using two numeric dials with a harsh squared-off font to display the time, it’s a lightwieght design for the techy gent. £89.99 will grab you the white version, £99.99 for the Tron-like Slate and Lazer Blue.

Another sci-fi inspired slice of timekeeping design comes courtesy of the Mini Lazer watches. They pull together a silver and enamel strap with a pastel-coloured glass front, and is again water resistant to 50M. With the colourful faces suitable for either sex, each blue, ice or pink Mini Lazer watch costs £119.99.

Dotted around the showcase was also Storm’s jewelery collection. their Quin line takes in leather, plaid and stainless steel necklaces and bracelets, ranging from £39.99 to £54.99.

Check out the complete range from every angle in the gallery below.

Nine Two Five reveal “Debut” designer cufflinks range

Nine Two Five "Debut" cufflinks

Nine Two Five have revealed their Debut cufflink collection, pulling together a range of nine pairs based on the famous 925 hallmark.

Starting at £160 and going up to £200 for the most expensive cufflinks in the range, the sterling silver sets strive to “produce classic designs with a modern twist, manufactured with true craftsmanship.”

In the same way you can’t wear a pair of trousers without a good belt, cufflinks really finish off a formal shirt, and also give the opportunity to add a little personal flair to what may otherwise be a stuffy outfit.

Of the entire range, our favourite set is easily the Lapis blue Jelly Bean pair, which are finished with a semi-precious stone inset into the sterling silver link. Call us cheap, but they’re also among the most affordable of the range, priced at £160.

For more info on the Debut collection, and to grab a pair, visit the Nine Two Five website.

Brandish to the Credit Crunch Rescue: It-Accessory £3.75 from £30!

You know when relatives get Christmas presents that just get under your skin? Well, Hama beads were that present during this holiday season. Whether in my pockets, in my shoes, woven onto my laces, down my skinny jeans (don’t ask!) they were everywhere. The trick with this gift is that you make designs out of the beads and then iron them for a minute to get a solid design. When a young cousin made me a heart it all clicked- these Hama beads were a replica of the It-accessory of the moment as seen on Kanye West and Brandish. And they only cost £3.75 off Amazon and for that price who cares if the recommended customer age is 5?!

Check the pictures of some designs that I managed to snap over the holidays!

Yay or Nay: CrapWrap by Firebox.com

By Will Reid on December 15th, 2008

crapwrap_ex8.jpg“Bored of perfectly folded paper and exquisitely tied ribbon? Fancy adding a more ‘personal’ touch this year? Then why not have your Christmas presents CrapWrapped™ at Firebox. This exclusive, uniquely shoddy gift wrapping option involves us wrapping your pressies in a slapdash fashion. “

The Daily Mail reports that Firebox.com is paying “20 of its male forklift truck drivers and warehouse assistants to wrap presents as quickly as possible, using ugly brown duct tape and very little care” for their latest ‘CrapWrap’ service. The service has proved popular with over 500 Firebox customers after only a week of its launch but what do you think?

Is it a bit stereotypical to say that all men are bad at wrapping or do you agree with Geraldine James, buying manager for Christmas gifts at Selfridges, who states that “men are perfectly capable of wrapping presents beautifully. They choose to pretend they can’t so they don’t have to do it.”

Vote ‘Yay or Nay’ to the service after the jump!

WISHLIST: Prada Lifestyle Sets

By Will Reid on June 16th, 2008

prada.jpgWhile most men opt for the safe bet of ties, socks and other traditional Father’s Day gifts, I have always wanted to get something better. I spend weeks and months searching for something perfect in its masculine luxury, but when your dad works for Tesco’s your options are sadly limited. As a result, I often end up presentless and apologetic by the Third Sunday of June (like today, for instance.)

I was a fan of Isabelle’s ‘Caviar’ ties but only this afternoon (how horrendously cruel is that?) found these Prada Lifestlye sets.

Cards, Shoe Shining, Airline Comfort Kits- check out all these great belated gift options at prada.com

Odds of a White Christmas very high with Demeter Fragrance Library

By admin on December 17th, 2007

SnowI don’t know about you but I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, and at the time of writing Ladbrokes are offering odds at 4/1 of London getting one so I might well be in luck.
For those of you who are unfortunate enough to live in a climate where brass monkeys don’t live in fear of castration, you might just have to settle for some snow scented perfume. Those crazies at Demeter Fragrance Library claim to have bottled the smell of snow (riiiiiiight, Demeter, of course you have) and the scent can purchase it from their on-line store.
The Demeter range includes Dirt, Grass (both kinds), Laundromat and Lobster as well as more sensible smells like Gardenia and Ginger. It’s the loopier scents that are most entertaining however and I’m sure there’s a few perfect gifts in there. If you know anyone with a particular olfactory obsession, check it out.
