Lad Musician coming to Blackbird

By admin on July 4th, 2008

lad musician.jpgThis is big. Bigger than finding out Liz Jones didn’t like Glastonbury (Shock Horror! A woman who calls cats ‘fur babies’ doesn’t like a muddy festival). I’m typing this so hard, I’m about to break my 3 year old Toshiba laptop. Lad Musician. Are. Coming. To. Blackbird. Read that sentence one more time and take it all in. I know, I can’t believe it either.

This means you can finally stop putting the Lad Musician site through the google translator – especially as it tends to hand back sentences like “The LAD original material for this season’s T-shirt material is nice and soft textures”. Blackbird are starting to stock Lad Musicians AW 2008/9 collection and it will show up in their online store from early August.

The best welly wearers at Glastonbury 2008

By admin on July 3rd, 2008

We’ve focused on celebrity style at Glastonbury, but what about the rest of the people in attendance? Men.Style.com have a slideshow focusing on the best wellie wearers at the festival, mixing celebs such as Dan Gillespie Sells and Luke Worrall among regular festival goers.

For what it’s worth, I think Dan Gillespie Sells pulls off the welly look best as he seems to have colour co-ordinated his outfit around the colour of his boots. A close second is the guy on the left and in a distant third is Luke Worrall, who looks like he’s on his way to a Fall Out Boy tribute band audition.

Celeb Style: Jay-Z does Geek Chic 2 Months After Matt Damon

By Will Reid on July 3rd, 2008

jayz.jpgLast Friday, Jay-Z turned up on Jonathan Ross and as the guestlist was revealed, I was delighted to see good ol’ Jay-Z rocking the Geek-Chic look. But sadly for Mr. Z (can we call him that?) Matt Damon had tried the look over two months before. Usually an all-round innovator and owner of his own label, I have come to expect more of this man with those infamous 99 problems.

Okay, okay- maybe Im being slightly sarcastic but let’s be honest; that beige jacket is rather horrific. However, I’m liking the ‘Globe-trotter’ scarf tied into the loop of his jeans and with quotes like “home was like the cliché of rough…when I was nine I saw someone shot for the first time” and “my favourite is heartfelt music… I listen to Coldplay, 50 Cent, Kanye West,” what’s not to love?
