Rykiel Homme grey jeans

By admin on June 20th, 2008

rykieljeans.jpgSeeing as Rykiel Homme is closing down, their clothes will make the transition from good piece to collector’s item. Before that transition is made, a lot of it goes on sale. This brings us to these Rykiel Homme jeans.

These jeans look like a toned down version of those radioactive Dior Homme jeans that Kanye West put up on his blog a while back. The muted colouring is still sharp enough to stand out from other jeans and they’re also about £200 cheaper than the Dior version. You can get these from the corner for £84.

Is pink one of the colours of the season?

By admin on May 28th, 2008

greyone.jpgIn the London paper today, they’ve stated that silvery grey is the colour of the season. I doubt it will be, due to grey shirts showing sweat more prominently than other colours but that’s not my main steak with this article. More problematic is the colour they’re teaming it up with – pink. Back when men started wearing pink, it was a statement of a softer side, the kind of man who cries watching Sex and the City before going back to chop some wood and crush a beer can on his forehead.

The problem is that in the last couple of years, pink has become very popular amongst men. Specifically, the FHM bloke, who have claimed the pink shirt as their own with the same vigour they claimed Ben Sherman shirts and misogyny. For anyone who doesn’t want to be mistaken for a swaggering idiot, this means pink off the colour menu.

Dolce & Gabbana grey Jeans/trousers – Jousers?

By admin on April 11th, 2008

dior grey jeans.jpgFor some weird reason, Grey jeans are still hard to come by. That’s what makes these Dolce & Gabbana light jeans a god/allah/thereisnogod-send. While I love trousers, they can be slightly too flimsy for my tastes.

Navy jeans are better than black jeans in spring, but they also bleed onto the trainer. The bleeding is incredibly annoying when you’ve just bought a brand new pair of white hi-tops and don’t want a stain on them – only to find there’s a blue outline around the heel of the trainer that you can’t seem to scrub off, so you spend ages cleaning them with an old toothbrush and some Cillit Bang. Not that I did any of this.

But I digress. At £270 these are pretty steep, but its best you look at it as an investment that can be worn during all seasons for all occasions. Or just treat yourself and feel slightly guilty afterwards.

Replay Grey Jeans

A good pair of jeans are hard to find. A
good pair of grey jeans are
impossible to find. Here at Brandish, we do the impossible, so you don’t have to
(you wouldn’t be able to anyway, seeing as it’s impossible).

These Replay
jeans
are practically perfect; The grey isn’t too dark or light. Dark is
way too close to black and light is too close to looking like an 80′s street
thug (albeit one in Police Academy who wouldn’t have any kind of weapon and be
impeccably styled). The fit isn’t nut-crushingly skinny, but not baggy enough
to alienate those who do like their jeans to be a little slim cut. And most
importantly, the price is a very reasonable £98.
