This watch is the silver version of the black dual time Casio which we featured a while back. It wouldn’t normally warrant a mention but the combination of silver strap and black face is odd enough to give this watch another look. You can snap it up for 29.90 Euro from German website Coutié.

It has a geeky, ’60s space age feel and reminds me of the sharp characters in 2001, A Space Odyssey. They were dressed by the now, sadly defunct label Hardy Amies and the watch seems to embody this highly functional but undeniably stylish aesthetic. This month’s 10 essentials featuring Fantastic Man, Purple Magazine and GQ Style

By admin on June 25th, 2008

There’s an embarrassment of riches on the 10 essentials front as the staff of Fantastic Man, Purple Fashion and GQ Style all chip in with their lists. Founders of Fantastic Man Gert Jonkers and Jop Van Bennekom have the kind of choices you’d expect them to have, with their own pair of jeans, embroidered chinos and Hardy Amies’ ‘ABC of Men’s fashion’ all making the list.

Purple cofounder Oliver Zahm’s list is very classic Hollywood, as he lists a YSL leather jacket, Ray Bans and a Honda 750 motorbike. GQ Style’s creative director David Bradshaw has a simpler list than both the aforementioned, listing a crossroads bike, his back garden and his wedding ring. He also mentions some Tom Ford sunglasses, reminding you that he does work at GQ style.
