Brad Pitt, currently promoting his new film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ has nabbed the cover of this month’s W magazine. Brad stars in a photographic portfolio by Chuck Close and the black-and-white pics are basically Pitt at a few different angles. The covers boasts that this issue is ‘The A-List’ issue with “the superstar, the hottest directors, the coolest producers 7 the glitziest Hollywood memorials.”
See after the jump for the entire set of photos and tell us what you think of Brad’s attempt to be arty over on our Facebook wall.

The Guardian released its ‘Best Dressed of 2008′ list last week and along with likes of Carine Roitfeld and Alexa Chung, Henry Conway was featured as a sartorial star. The newspaper reports that “anyone who can steal the limelight from Paris Hilton at her own London party courtesy of a dashing white satin suit is OK by us.”
The 10-person long list is women-dominated and the only other men to feature on the list were Take That and Barack Obama so Henry has done rather well!

Giles Deacon
Fashionista is stating that Katie Grand’s new LOVE magazine (published by Condé Nast,) is a “beacon of hope for the dying magazine industry and its dwindling fashion counterpart.” Well, it may be a beacon of hope for the magazine industry but Grand and her brilliant team have decided to get a head start with a very low-key blog.
The masthead of the magazine was revealed today and a look through the blog revealed such gems as Giles Deacon posing with a pair of Scotch-Egg-Glasses (the ‘it’ accessory of next season?) and fashion editors Francesca Burns and Victoria Young with the likes of Simon Cowelland David Walliams! Who would have guessed that Mark Frith (of Heat and celeb scandal fame,) would be editorial consultant?
Enjoy all the behind-the-scenes pictures as well as the full masthead after the jump!

Ashton Kutcher is one of my low-key style icons. Firstly, he started out as a model and it was he who introduced the now infamous ‘trucker cap’ to the fashion scene. Rumours were rife of a fashion collaboration when he was spotted note-taking in the front rows of fashion weeks and now he has provided us with even more style inspiration.
At the premiere of Demi Moore’s new film, ‘Flawless,’ Ashton was a picture of muted luxury with his regal red tie, opulent tweed coat and not-too-flashy Louis Vuitton scarf. This is a look that anyone can copy this Winter!

Usually, I like to write these magazine posts with as much information and detail as possible. I’m no stranger to the old hour of uploading just to give you the full low-down on that Dazed & Confused issue with “Tecktonick”dancer Kevin. The US Vogue ‘Superman’ issue with Tom Welling was packed with great pictures that were up on our beloved Brandish within hours of their release!
However, sometimes a hot story is worth posting even if the only information you have is a cover image…

Gianni Agnelli is a man constantly sourced as style inspiration to fashionistos across the world. From his flair for fine tailoring to his edgy take on accessories, this man had a look that was extremely well-executed and so timeless that it is still being copied on the catwalks of today. Agnelli’s grandson, Lapo Elkann, continues to wear all of Agnelli’s bespoke suits and it is no coincidence that Elkann has, in recent years, been hailed as a modern style icon by the likes of US Vogue and Esquire.
The article is full of great style advice such as, “if you want to dress like an iconoclast, your first step is to dismiss all of the old rules of fashion — just like Gianni Agnelli did when he wore his wristwatch over his sleeve cuff.”

P. Diddy has graced the cover of L’Uomo Vogue‘s latest issue and I’m not sure what to think. Not someone who I associate with great style or fashion prowess (despite the cologne and menswear line,) Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs looks a bit naff in my opinion.
But hey, at least he’s lost the suNglasses for once! Tell us what you think by e-mailing isabelle@shinymedia.com

The latest issue of Another Man reads like a Who’s Who of not only the fashion industry but the world of art, music and acting. Jam-packed with features on Lucien Freud, a list of ‘Style Icon’ profiles scribed by the artistic elite and tribute stories to John Galliano (a designer who haunts my dreams,) and Martin Margiela (a designer who borders on haunting my nightmares.)
Dazed Digital tells us that the issue provides an “insight into the world of fashion with work from the world’s leading photographers and stylists including Nicola Formichetti, Norbert Schoerner, Alister Mackie, Gareth McConnell, David Armstrong, Tyler Udall, Serge Leblon, Bryan McMahon, Sandra Freij, Paul Wetherell, Mattias Karlsson, Lina Scheynius.”

David Walliams, the man who shot to stardom with the launch of Little Britain, has accomplished many things. He’s won a ton of awards, just launched state-side, swam across the English Channel and even been spotted with the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Kate Moss on his arm. Now, the comedian had decided to write a book for children, ‘The Boy In The Dress,’ about a boy who likes to dress in female clothing and his journey to see the approval of his peers. Illustrated by Quentin Blake, I’m sure it will sell simply on shock factor but it would struggle to be as shocking as this editorial from Parade magazine.
In the editorial, Walliams struts his (hairy) stuff in designer couture in an effort to publicise his latest career move. Oh, dear.
See after the jump for all the photos- and it only gets worse!

Fashionista, the site that is always in-the-know, has reported upon a WWD article that reveals tennis-supremo Rafael Nadal as the chosen face of French fashion-house Lanvin’s new fragrance for men, L’Homme Sport.
Nadal is the first tennis face to front the campaign of a French fashion house and the news of his appointment is causing quite the stir. Nadal recently became the Number 1 Tennis Player in the World, taking over from Roger Federer who is, himself, a bit of a fashion darling beloved by editors and designers from Anna Wintour to Oscar De La Renta.

Mark Ronson has always been a tiptop fashion star and this year has been awash with his sartorial influence. From the stripes and Mod look of early 2008 to the sharp tailoring in kooky fabrics. From the ’50s rock-star (read: Elvis) to the fur-clad aristo-geek.
Now, Ronson is taking it upon himself to lead the way with the trapper-hat wearer, ‘Lightspeed Champion,’ look as first established by our (soon to depart-) Jason Dike. Mark looked great at Vivienne Westwood’s after-show party last night with his fur-lined coat, oversized glasses and slick boots.

Entertainment, Heroes and Celebrities, Polls
By Will Reid on September 2nd, 2008
In previous months, I have reported on the possibility that maybe Brandish is read by major celebrities. We preempted Russell Brand’s short shorts, the change in mood of Mr Mill’s Style Column in the Sunday Time’s Style Magazine and now, it appears that our editor Isabelle may have inspired Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s new haircut. Days after Isabelle claimed skinhead-inspired film ‘This Is England’ as style inspiration, Chris Martin has appeared at a BBC Radio 2 song session with his previously curly locks shaved off. Simple chance or Sartorial steal?
Anyway, what do you think of this new look? Continue reading to vote in our poll.
