Topman turn to tweed for AW12 Premium Suiting Collection

Looking for a new suit to see you through the winter months? Topman’s newly revealed AW12 Premium Suiting Collection doffs its cap to traditional styles, using coloured herringbones and houndstooth, multi flecked birdseye, tweed and fine Italian fabrics for a classic, nostalgic look without breaking the bank.

Consisting of the Harris Tweed line, the Made in England range and the inaugural Super Premium collection, Topman’s AW12 winter collection leans heavily on slim-fit styles, but use tonal colour schemes to soften the look on men perhaps not usually as comfortable in close-fitting suits.

Hold your horses, I’m well aware that there’s no need to buy a jacket in the midst of summer. But think about it, with the economy crumbling and the 10p tax rate eating up more of your pay, it’s time to start investing in quality pieces like this APC herringbone jacket.

Whilst the piece does fit with the nautical look, it will undoubtedly be much too hot to wear a jacket. On the bright side, the double breasted trend is set to continue on into next winter at least, so you’ll be buying an item that is in fashion whilst remaining stylish. Style Icons: The Young Knives

Although Indie style icons are plentiful,
they all seem to follow the same consensus of skinny jeans and trenchcoats. That’s
why the Young Knives are one of my favourite style icons. Sticking with the same
look – which could be described as fox hunter meets 60′s office clerk – since
2006, it’s clear that they’re not wearing their clothes as part of a fashion fad.

The clever mixing of herringbone and check by lead
singer Henry Dartnall (centre in the picture above) is like something you’d see
on the Sartorialist. The band also wear skinny ties, which give their outfits just
enough modernity to make the look fresh. Look after the jump for their ‘Up All Night’
video, which is about beating up people in Shoreditch.
