Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have appeared in the latest issue of New York Times T Style looking actually quite alright in full-on Old-Hollywood shots by the genius fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo. The pair look as if they have stepped off a film set in sharp tailoring and, after all those Scientology-maniac rumours, it seems quite fitting that they take the covers of the magazine’s ‘Reinvention Issue.’
See after the jump for all the pics from the editorial!

Iggy Pop has, in previous seasons, been declared by designers as high-fashion inspiration. And for many valid reasons; he rocked skinny leather trousers long before Kate Moss, meddled with blood long before Angelina Jolie and played the effeminate rocker with crazy hair long before Russell Brand.
But when Brandish’s own Isabelle reported on the menswear trend of ‘Medges,’ (men’s footwear with a Wedge heel,) no-one was expecting the trend to filter down to Crocs.
As good old Oscar Wilde once mused, “fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” Well, there’s no time like the present!

When I saw this image on Hypebeast this morning, I instantly wanted to put it on Brandish and have it sent right round the world on some type of banner. Unfortunately, I found out 5 minutes later that the hotel I’m staying at (Grand Hyatt Mumbai,) has given the entire floor above me to a call centre which means that it takes my computer about half an hour to Google something and the thought of uploading a picture onto Movable Type almost brings me to tears.
Anyway here it is: a picture sure to go down in fashion history.

My bad! I may have the wrong film but I doubt such a slip-up would result in a look that miserable from Robert DeNiro? Might it be that he’s fed up with films? Maybe he (okay, clearly he) couldn’t be bothered to make the effort to dress up but my bet is that it’s standing next to Al Pacino who, as well as being an arguably equal competitor on the greatest actor front, actually looks pretty good!
Read on for pictures including 50 Cent as well as info about this cult-to-be film.

If you still can’t get enough of Marty McFly, you can own the genuine hoverboard that was used in the film. Owning a piece of Hollywood memorabilia is always a pricy affair and this is no different, with the ebay auction currently at $30,000.
There’s also the question of what to do with it if you did win it. Do you frame it? Try to use it? Or just hold it close to your chest whilst watching the film on repeat? Choose what you’d do with it in the poll after the jump.

Ewan McGregor, Brandish fave and actor extraordinaire, has made it as this week’s ‘Love The Look’ style icon. While not actually a look he created himself, McGregor’s get-ups in the film ‘Down With Love’ were unbelievable. Mod suits, a Rat Pack-slick haircut, patent shoes and exotic skins; the look was one of excitement and interesting times. As the love story blossomed, each event was painted with the brilliant sartorial brush of McGregor’s dapper-dandy. Who cares if the actual film was rubbish?

Perez Hilton has got his hands on an image from the heavily anticipated Jude Law for Dior Homme Sport campaign. Hilton complains of the blatant photoshop-job surrounding Jude’s sudden wealth of hair, hence the equally blatant ‘FAKE’ scrawled across the image in trademark Perez style!
JustJared reports that Jude was shot by Australian photographer Daniel Askill in May, on location in the Bahamas. Askill says of the fragrance campaign; “it was hard for me to decide whether to take it on because I had directed an ad for Dior before with Hedi [Slimane], it was one of the last major projects before he left, so it was a very tumultuous time.”
Keep reading for more details and backstage (behind the camera?) gossip!

Thom Browne and Tom Ford are without a doubt two of Brandish’s favourite designers and so imagine my surprise when I got e-mailed this article from the New York Times. It compares the work of both men and includes such literary gems as “the Tom Ford man is an Anglicized gloss on Hollywood style, while Thom Browne’s designs evoke the hipness of eternal adolescence” and Tom Ford’s brilliant definition of masculininty; “to be masculine is to fuse the debonair cut of a Savile Row suit with the swagger of a star from 1970s pornography.”
I made the Brandish team answer this rather sadistic question and you can see their (unwilling) answers after the jump along with a Brandish Poll.

When I woke up this morning and sat down at my screen, I was confronted with the unsettlingly sad news of Tim leaving (is that fair for someone to have to deal with at such a vulnerable time of the day? – okay, it was 11:30.) As a result I was thrown into a mental retrospective of my short time at Brandish. The posts, the e-mails, the endless questions (sorry Isabelle!) and particularly the instance in which Tim edited a photo for me and sent it back to my grease-stained, holiday-rented and ancient computer even though I was a) in Tenerife and b) a complete stranger to him (Thanks Tim.) As part of this smile-inducing recall, I thought of one of my posts on L’Uomo Vogue. So later, when I was ‘surfing the web’ and found that Casey Affleck is on their latest ‘Hollywood Issue,’ I thought it was worth a post.
This looks amazing and with stars from Javier Bardem to Quentin Tarantino, you just have to look after the jump for more information and pics.

The latest issue of Details proves that this is a magazine for the fresh faces and rising stars. From Daniel Radcliffe in leather to Jonathan Rhys Meyers in too-tight jersey, we now have another young star who’s set to be a success. And after what feels like forever, we have a subtle cover which just oozes cool (did anyone else find Radcliffe’s ‘tache slightly scary?) Mr Christensen sails dangerously close to the James Dean stereotype but has just enough personality to pull it of without leaving the reader feeling as if they should watch the publicised film/line/fragrance out of pity. The photo-spread is dark, unshaven and unapologetic. Hayden appears determined not to fall into the pretty-boy category and this allows you to think he’s cool without feeling guilty. Inside, we have articles on Somalian gangs, Hollywood smiles, a How-to on Divorce and an interesting looking article on that age-old question- Does size matter? Prepare yourselves for this, it look set to be big.
See after the jump for more of Hayden’s shoot.
