Iconic ring

MoonCarbon Open Cuff
This month, Swarovski has released a collection of jewellery and accessories especially for men. Recognised for over a century as the world leader in cut crystal, we were quite curious as to what the collection would entail.
The collection which is based around six main themes of course includes faceted crystal, but more surprisingly ceramic. The combination of these materials allows them to successfully combine elegant and strong forms, to create an overall very elegant line.

Something to liven up your Monday lunchtime, Oki-Ni are stocking jewellery and accessories by the Belgian designer Martin Margiela. You’ll have to be quick as some great pieces like the silver hospital bracelet and nail ring have already sold out.
Working with Jerome Coste‘s Les Ateliers Ruby they have also come up with a range of biker accessories. We love the silk scarf, it’s a perfect summer purchase for guarding against sore throats on long flights, and features the Maison’s signature white on white brushstroke effect. If you’re a biker then you wont be able to resist the helmet, featuring signatures from the whole MMM team. See after the jump for product details.

Mickey Boardman is the infamous columnist at Paper magazine as well as a social butterfly and fashion extraordinaire. He is also the proud owner of a rather distinctive and intriguing look. Boardman blends paired down basics in block colours (Lacoste polo shirts, chinos, simple cardigans in luxury cashmere,) with extravagant costume jewellery and accessories. Chunky necklaces and lavish loops of gorgeous beads add a high-fashion touch to any simple look. But I worry it might raise a few eyebrows (and maybe a few fists) down at the local supermarket.
So what do you think- Yay or Nay?

Forzieri‘s target consumer for this pendant could be a number of people, Tiger Woods fans, golfing enthusiasts or a golfing widow, I’m not really sure.
Either way it’s a pretty spectacular piece of jewellery although Jon’s reaction to it was less than favourable shall we say! I can’t really imagine how you’d wear the pendant, if you’re going to give it a go you might as well go down the chic euro-lothario route and wear it with an open-necked shirt, linen trousers and slip-on suede mules perhaps? Should golfing not tickle your fancy you can also choose from cats, horses, dogs and a mother holding cherubic babe aloft. I want them all!

I have a bit of an obsession with Waris Ahluwalia, the jewellery designer, actor and sometime Ben Cho collaborator.
Café Mode’s Géraldine snapped him looking amazingly turned out for the Ben Cho show in New York recently. It’s a happy coincidence but the dark grey background adds to the tonal mix of his outfit. I love the dun brown suit, and the contrast with the delicate floral pocket square. Research has shown that if you stare at a picture of a tree for long enough it lowers your heart rate, but I think in this instance you could happily substitute tree for Waris Ahluwalia.

Jordan Askill, a designer whose work for Dior Homme and Ksubi has cemented him as a name to keep an eye on, has launched a jewellery collection at Dover Street Market (DSM.) Dover Street Market is a fashion emporium founded by Rei Kawakubo and her husband and it has become known for its artistic installations, exclusive lines and designer collaborations. In previous years, we’ve seen a hotel room designed by Alber Elbaz of Lanvin and a Tiki-hut check-out.
Akill’s jewellery line is made up of edgy, androgynous pieces that could be worn by either guys or girls and Vogue reports that “the debut jewellery offering features bird, boy and rose motifs as fragile and rare entities – the flora, fauna and humanity of life – set in a claw to denote them as “precious memories to capture“. Lovely.

Now, I’m not really a jewellery kind of guy and apart from my vintage Omega watch and ragged friendship bracelets I really don’t indulge in the decoration of my exterior.
However, I do quite like this signet ring from Topman and the mixture of edgy ‘blue metal’ and classic signet ring is undoubtedly cool. It would require little other jewellery but would work perfectly with silver pieces such as necklaces and mangles (that’s bangles for those less acquainted with strange fashion-lingo.)

Whilst collaborations are pretty standard,
it’s still interesting to hear of a Comme
Des Garçons and Chromehearts jewellery collection. Looking at the
collection, it seems the idea of a CDG and Chromehearts collaboration is a lot
more interesting than the actuality of it. The shirts were almost too boring
for words – apart from the words I just typed – and the jewellery is good but dull.
Despite my knee jerk reactions, I’m sure
these will look much better in person when they launch in Dover Street Market
this spring.
