bruce almighty christopher kane.jpgI was recently watching Bruce Almighty and during the infamous Monkey-Butt scene (I try to be a serious journalist,) I was struck with the cold slap of sartorial envy.

Okay, maybe not envy but definite recognition. The Gangsta friend was wearing a torn denim waistcoat and high-waisted trousers similar to not only Christopher Kane’s show of last season but to the Gisele editorial of V54.

We at Brandish have talked about this and I drew the unlucky straw of having to tell you that your outfit, you know the glasses and print-knit jumper; well you’re just a little late for the geek-chic look.

Check Luella S/S 2008 or Raf Simons A/W 2005 and you’ll see that while you were in leathers and manmade fibres doing Bourne Identity, we were rocking Clark Kent shades and vintage ties.

Jim Carrey in “I Love You Phillip Morris”

Thumbnail image for carrey.jpgPhotos have been leaked from the set of Jim Carrey’s latest film, “I Love You Phillip Morris,” and they show Carrey in a slightly different get-up from usual.

The film, based on a true story and book by Steve McVicker, tells the tale of a con artist (Carrey) who falls in love with his prison cell mate (played by Brandish favourite Ewan McGregor.) So far, we have seen the film provide various hilarious headlines such as when Carrey and McGregor were spotted at a Miami gay bar “getting into character.”

It all sounds like a laugh but am I the only one who thinks Carrey looks like he’s wearing Versace circa 1995?
