Blue Suede Shoes are back; ASOS, Clarks Originals, John Rocha and more

By Stefano on December 31st, 2012

Good news for Elvis, it appears that blue suede shoes (and leather ones too) are enjoying a bit of a mini revival. I saw that Clarks had added navy to its range of classics this year and they are not alone. You can also buy blue suede and leather brogues and loafers too.

Of course you have to be a little careful about what you wear them with – especially if the shoes are more navy than blue. They work well with jeans, chinos and grey suit trousers, but black trousers are obviously a no.

Here is a selection that caught our eye.

More Clarks. This is the classic desert boot in a fetching shade of blue. You can also buy Wallabees in the same shade.Clarks

Style Safari: John Rocha’s Debenhams sale – Blue Brogues

By Stefano on December 29th, 2012

If you fancy a quick fix of some of our favourite heritage clothes brands you would do well to pop into your local Debenhams, The store has Ben Sherman, Duffer, Levi’s Fred Perry and more and at the moment much of it at knock down sale prices.

The store also has a big collection of John Rocha clothing, some of which we love and some which we aren’t keen on at all. There’s a pretty decent selection of lambswool and mixed fibre jumpers which sell for between £20 and £40, but it is the footwear section that impressed us most and in particular the range of Brogues.

Pick of the bunch is this lovely navy pair which once retailed for £90 and now costs you £70. It is a very cool twist on a classic style. they are available in brown too if you are looking for something a little more conventional.

Topman‘s version will give you that lumberjack look, while Paul Smith‘s luxe offering is perfect as part of a nouveau grunge outfit. John Rocha‘s corduroy trapper will keep you cosy and warm until first thaw, or until you get on the tube. Whichever comes first..
