10 fashion items that your bloke (not so) secretly hates

By Stefano on November 23rd, 2012

Guest blogger Becca Caddy writes…

We’re guessing that many of you will have been down at the pub when a debate kicks off about why women dress a certain way, whether it’s always to please men, please themselves or show off in front of their mates (or secret answer d. all of the above)

Well we’re not psychologists, so can’t give you a definitive answer, but whether guys play a role in how women dress or not, it’s pretty clear some sartorial choices that are really popular among womenkind really REALLY irritate some men.

We conducted a study (OK, so we asked our Facebook and Twitter mates) into which style choices women make that really get to blokes and as you’d expect there’s some of the usual suspects, some surprise appearances and some that were just far too explicit to include.

Men, prepare to get agitated and angry, women, do whatever you like and never feel like you have to throw away those old UGGs that smell like wet dogs just to please a guy…

Thanks to everyone who got back to us, we’ve included some of your quotes throughout the gallery, but do let us know in the comments below if there are any we’ve missed out.

2. Anything that's not "easy access"

Yeah we know, we hate that phrase too and even feel a bit dirty for writing it, but it's the only way we can really describe the likes of leotards, tights, jumpsuits and spanx. Sure most women couldn't care less whether guys could get in their pants in a record amount of time or not, and we're not even suggesting everyone's going to be crazily undressing each other in an attempt to find out. But what we've found from our extensive research, is it's less about the actual act of getting someone naked and more about men thinking about the fact it'd just be a pain in the arse and therefore finding the clothes and the lady inside them really off-putting. As one Twitter friend so eloquently put it, "Tights! No access and a muffled muff." Well, we can't top that… So females, NEVER care whether your choice of clothes is easy for sex or not, that's pretty grim. However, we do urge you to bear in mind that it might not be easy for other things either, as one female Facebook friend explained her hatred for jumpsuits, "every few years they come back in fashion: until everyone realises (a) less than 1% of women can actually carry them off with any style, and (b) how the hell do you go the loo in under 10 mins."

Just For Fun: Human Tetris!

By Will Reid on July 14th, 2008

I found this video on Youtube and couldn’t resist putting it on Brandish. Two minutes of innocent people trying to fit through weirdly-shaped gaps in screens of foam, only to be thrown into a pool of water.

And for fashion’s sake, who could ignore those silver jumpsuits? Hilarious!

H&M to push the boundaries of their menswear collection

By admin on July 11th, 2008

hmmen.jpgH&M have decided to put a little more elbow grease into their menswear line, focusing on a sort of premium range that will be at thirty stores worldwide. Although no mention is made of COS in the article, it’s likely that the success of their upscale big brother has led them to the conclusion that men will gladly pay more for higher quality.

According to head of men’s design Ann-Sofie Johansson, the collection will focus on daring pieces like jumpsuits, fake fur coats (hopefully like the one that was on Asos) and pieces with clever detailing. The collection will be available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States from mid September.
