Bearded retard and my own personal hate figure, Kaye West wore a piece from his yet to be released clothing line Pastelle to last nights American Music Awards. The panelled varsity jacket is part of the singers clothing label, headed by our very own British designer Kim Jones and is as of yet unreleased to the general public, though look out for the lines website, PastTellMuseum.com, as rumour has that it goes live soon!
Jump through for video of Kanye performing “Heartless” last night at the awards.

David Beckham’s possible January loan to AC Milan is big news in football but all I can think about is whether he’ll start dressing more like an Italian… hey, even James Bond, the quintessential English gent wears Brioni.
I’m hoping we’ll see pictures of him at Pitti Uomo hanging out with Kanye West and Gianni Versace. Much better than Tom Cruise as a fashion buddy anyday; L.A’s loss is Milan’s gain so fingers crossed!
Apologies to The Sartorialist for the Image

As much as I hate label-whores and Louis Vuitton/Gucci-style designs that are made only for the monogram printed across them, I have to admit that my Sartorial ‘id,’ survives vicariously through Kanye West’s ‘Universecity’ blog.
Often, we catch (not very) subtle glimpses of candy-coloured designer goods but sometimes we’re treated to the odd indie-flash buy. Like this ‘Mr P’ t-shirt designed by Tim Lahan. It’s quirky, fun, lighthearted and a piece that you could wear with anything.
Not recommended for those with a fear of pigeons; if that includes you, then I apologise for exposing you to what must surely be like The Ring + The Grudge + The Shining (in pigeon-fearing terms.)

Marc Jacobs‘ shows are always a star-studded affair and this latest one was no exception. Marvel at Kanye West‘s grey suit and camel deck shoes, (why didn’t Jay-Z make a similar effort?!), wonder at Jefferson Hack’s eternal youth, coo over Luke Worrall who looks the epitome of a little boy lost and most importantly, click image to enlarge.
Visit Catwalk Queen to see the Marc Jacobs women’s show.

Just how far can you go with your platonic man love? I mean it’s one thing to merely admire someone for their sense of style, it’s another to copy his every outfit. That’s the dilemma that the site Dress like Kanye West is posing as it threatens to go a step too far into freaky adulation.
As you’d expect from a site like this, there’s a large amount of man love on the site with a typical comment being “damn, i love kanye’s swag. this site is mad useful. i hella wanna dress like kanye west”. But while this is all well and good, wouldn’t you want to cultivate your own style instead of just copying someone else?

Seeing as Mr. West is an established favourite here at Brandish, we feel it only fair to link to a sneak preview of his Pastelle line. As until now pictures of Pastelle clothing have been a rare joy and although the line is due out in November, this doesn’t look set to change. If Vman went through a load of hassle to get the pictures – the tagline reads ‘if only you knew what we went through to get these pictures’ – what hope is there for the rest of us?
The clothes themselves are wearable, if a little unremarkable, but I’ll assume that given the probable high price point they’ll be made using impeccable tailoring and materials. See the rest of the pictures after the jump.

I can’t seem to go a day without mentioning Kanye West lately, but this complex post is an interesting one on his various collaborations and the likeliness of them ever appearing in stores. Let us know which one you think will be out first in the poll after the jump.

What a difference a near year can make. Seems like only yesterday we were calling these Ato boots weird and unwearable. Now, after having Kanye West wear them, they look like they’d easily slip into our wardrobe.
And call me crazy, but even the £199 price tag doesn’t seem that bad. Heck, Jordans cost around the same price and they’re not made from a mix of patent and premium leather. If you’ve changed your tune, you’ll have to join the queue as Oki-Ni only have these on pre-order.

Since everyone from Scott Baio to DMX has a reality show these days, why not Kanye West? That’s what HBO have been thinking but apparently they need a writer to “capture Kanye in the right way”. This isn’t the first time West has featured on HBO, with an Entourage cameo to his name.
Traditionally, reality shows with stars in the prime tend to be tame affairs (seeing as they actually have some dignity to lose, unlike Scott Baio) but seeing as Kanye has had most of his outrageous moments captured on tape, it might just be no holds barred. After the jump, I’ve included a clip of Being Bobby Brown – a reality show all the others wish they could be.

Fatlace isn’t particularly known for it’s politically correct stance, but nontheless when they asked whether Kanye West was homosexual or not t’other day I was still a little surprised. Surely the question should be ‘Does it matter whether Kanye West is homosexual?’ (and the answer should be no).
The poll in question came about after Kanye posted some images of his latest Louis Vuitton stash on his blog. Being a heterosexual female I know I can’t have the final word on homosexuality but I am convinced it doesn’t involve handbags! The man loves fashion, and we love him for it so do we really have to question someone’s sexuality just because they’re interested in clothes?

Someone at the London Paper clearly reads Brandish. Last week we wrote about the new C.O.L.O.U.R.S video and briefly mentioned Taz of Sa-Ra as a possible style icon. Lo and Behold, Taz is featured in the London Paper today.
Coincidence or proof of our influence? It’s probably the former, but let’s assume it’s the latter. The feature doesn’t mention Taz as a style icon, instead focusing on his pro Barack Obama video ‘Imma vote Obama way‘. Give them a couple of months and they’ll probably stop referring to him as that ‘mad-looking guy’ and start calling him a trendsetter.

This is only vaguely fashion related but who can resist Brandish favourites Kanye West and Andre 3000 doing a bit of choreographed dancing? The other partakers in this slightly bizarre video are beatmakers Sa-Ra and P.Diddy’s former butler-turned-singer Fonzworth Bentley. Together they call themselves C.O.L.O.U.R.S which stands for cool outrageous lovers of uniquely raw style.
Bringing this back to fashion, Taz of Sa-Ra has been featured in a couple of Sartorialist photographs on Men.Style and seems to have a very eye catching look. Do we have a future style icon in the making?

Just in case you weren’t sure it existed, here’s a sneak peek at Kanye West’s upcoming Pastelle line. West wore this hoody to Dior Homme’s Paris show and it’s called ‘The Warrior’, due to its design being inspired by a suit of Armour. The warrior is made from several materials, including leather, felt & mesh, so we can assume Pastelle will be a mid to high end brand. With some assuming that the launch would get pushed back, it’s nice to see a little piece of it appear.

Although the Lanvin x Acne collaboration looks to be women’s only, they’re still teaming up to release some high tops that can (presumably) also be worn by men. At the moment, there’s next to no information available on them, apart from the fact that they’ll be out in November and that Kanye West will probably buy them. From the looks of it, we can assume that it will be the classic Lanvin high top shape with Acne denim on top.
