Steve Jones was seen on Monday with rumoured new girlfriend Fearne Cotton. A stylish, undoubtedly TV-friendly pair, I have to admit that I actually think Steve is better dressed on this particular date.
Let’s start with the leather jacket- this staple item is unexpectedly hard to pull off (without looking like a T-Bird; never a good look.) Jones’ version is masculine yet still on trend and the slim-fit detail means that your swagger won’t be shapeless. The white canvas brogues are a perfect summer piece and can be worn on holiday with a pair of shorts or actually in the UK with jeans, as seen here. Add black Wayfarer-style glasses and run the risk of looking like a trend-victim or try a non-Ray Ban style and be all-out original, fashion quirkiness will get you a Brandish A-Grade.

Sales are getting larger by the minute which, depending on your financial situation, may be a great excuse to blow your earnings or some more online window shopping. The Matches sale is the largest yet and to accommodate its size, I’ve decided to focus on a designer at a time. This post will focus on Phillip Lim. Check after the jump for info on these items.

We rarely feature Converse because they’re so popular there’s next to no point in doing so. Even the special editions are worn by every Tarquin, Richard and Harold. With all that said, I am particularly looking forward to these leather jacket trainers.
The zips are useless, but they’re also the detail that sets these apart from standard Converse’s. Most special edition All Stars just have a snazzy pattern or colourway, so it’s nice to see a pair actually deviate from the blueprint for once. These will be available in specialised stores from July.

At Radio 1′s Big Weekend this weekend, the line-up was that of a rather well-dressed bunch of bands. Madonna excluded. Looking at the photos from this Maidstone extravaganza of fun and frolicking, Irwin Sparks of The Hoosiers stood out as a Brandish-reading sartorialist. He has obviously caught on to our nautical debate and performed in a striped polo and chinos. Also interesting was the appearance (as in attendance not attire) of Usher who wore a Burberry-inspired leather jacket with oversized studs on top of a black vest (see Dan Gillespie of The Feeling.)
Pics below and more celeb style later- although that of a different genre.

Newspapers and Magazines (including me) have all fallen in love with Mad Men’s sense of style. While no one (bar the BNP) wants any other values in the show to return, the fashion sense displayed by the men in that show is constantly returned to. And from watching the Apprentice, it’s clear to see why.

While Purple jackets may immediately make
you think of booking tickets to a Prince show, they can be incredibly subtle. This
Robert
Geller purple leather jacket is a great example of this.
Being the shade of purple that doesn’t yell
about its purple status, it’s perfect for those wishing to take baby steps onto
the new male trend – which is suspiciously just like an old female trend. Are
designers getting lazy? Next they’ll be trying to sell sheer to men. The $1275 price tag is a little steep, but it is Robert Geller. If you’ve got the cash, it’s available from Blackbird.

Right now is the most awkward time to buy
clothes. You know you need some more winter clothing but are also aware that spring
is just round the corner. Stock up on tees and you’ll be freezing until at
least March. Stock up on coats and jumpers and you’ll have nothing to wear come
March. It’s this dilemma that’s led us to stockpile our sale coat
recommendations into one handy top five post. After this you will see no more
winter coats on Brandish. Unless we see a coat we like.
