If you live in the UK, you will have no doubt be familiar with Lyle & Scott and their distinctive yellow eagle logo. Lyle & Scott have spent 130 years honing their unique take on British casual sportswear, using traditional materials such as cashmere. The brand that was once synonymous with golfers, has however managed to stay current and their latest collection is no different.

Earlier this week Lyle & Scott got in touch with Brandish to give us a sneak peak at the A/W collection. We love the preppy knits combined with a street-savvy urbanite style.

Dream team: lightweight summer jackets

Looking for summer jackets might be slightly premature but it’s never too early to shop, and with a chunky jumper a lightweight waterproof layer will more than suffice for March.

These jackets are all fairly pricey, but would make fantastic investments if you have a bit of money burning a hole in your pocket. Rene Gurskov‘s bomber is in a simple colour but tailoring details like shrunken buttons and origami pocket flaps make it a bit more special. Paul Smith’s jacket is for the more formally inclined Brandites, the colour is simply awesome and will look wonderful with a summer palette. On the more utilitarian end of the scale Moncler‘s khaki jacket is so unassumingly stylish it will take you from office to pub to disco to wherever you kids hang out. Lastly Lyle and Scott‘s jacket is a classic shape and again a great colour, a perfect choice if you fancy something more conventional which retains a bit of interest.

J.Lindeberg Jumper

Urban Outfitters have taken their sweet time getting their online store the same amount of brands as their physical store but they got there in the end. Now they have brands like D.I.E, Surface to Air, Filippa K and this J.Lindeberg jumper.

Whilst it does look slightly unremarkable in this picture, the blue colour they’ve used is a lot more vibrant than it appears in the picture. It’s an odd shade, somewhat between electric and navy blue and the piece stands out purely because it’s a shade you won’t have seen before.  At £80, it’s only slightly more expensive than a Lyle & Scott tee and you won’t have to suffer the indignity of some pie eating slob wearing the same top as you.

time to start planning your spring outfits. If you’re into the business look,
then you’ll love this Lyle
& Scott Harrington jacket (£89). Over recent months, Lyle & Scott
has really, really gotten popular. It’s got to the point where you can walk
into a bar and see at least five people sporting the eagle. So if you’re the
kind of person who doesn’t want to wear
brands that are too big, you might want
to give Lyle & Scott a miss.

Still, this jacket matches well with the
Onitsuka Tiger trainers we featured recently and is light and airy enough to wear when spring finally comes along. Best to stick to your winter coats and umbrellas for now though.
