Liverpudlian designer Christopher Shannon has teamed up with Activision to produce a range of tees inspired by cult video game Prototype.

Taking his cues from lead character Alex Mercer Shannon has created a selection of printed tees which would please fashion fan and gamer alike. Christopher Shannon came onto the scene with the Topman MAN show, and it’s great to see him get commissions off the back of it.

Commercial as it may be Activision are keeping this exclusive by making it phone order only, you’ll have to ring 020 7693 6985 to get your hands on the tees.

The ultimate Mlutch?

By Colin Chapman on April 3rd, 2009

Matches_mlutch.jpgOn a recent visit to Matches boutique on Marylebone High Street, I couldn’t take my hands off this amazing mlutch bag. Whilst the Matches website (and no doubt producer, Zagliani) coyly describe it as a ‘document holder’ it’s most definitely a mlutch. Too big to be a lady clutch bag, expandable to fit um, a few flat items like the essential glossy mag, passport (I’m struggling here), spare pants.. ‘documents’? The amazing python leather has to be stroked to be really appreciated. Of course, such perfection comes at a price: £688.

Still reading? Though I’ve since failed to find anything quite so lovely in my luxury mlutch quest, Matches also stock this ‘pouch’ also by Zagliani at a less eye-watering £194. My suspicion is that alternatives could only really be tracked down in Italy, where no doubt there is an elegant store frequented by camp, document-wielding men with a penchant for expensive skins. If you find it, the Brandish team would love to know.

Tavi Tells The Truth: A Man And His Gold Coat

By Will Reid on October 3rd, 2008

goldjacket.jpgTavi, the girl-wonder-blogger with a fashion sense so incredibly brilliant I feel like crying when I ‘m reading her blog, has found this picture and decided that she wants to marry the wearer of this great, gold jacket.

I’m okay with just being his friend but it is an undoubtedly fantastic image.

Now, the only question is where to find that jacket.

Beard mask will shield your shame

By admin on May 27th, 2008

beardwear beard cover.jpgBeing a woman I’ve never had to cope with beard angst, moustache angst maybe, but I totally feel for you if you have a smooth babysoft chin and crave manly face fur.

Which is why I’ve unearthed this beard cover to hide your shame (39 EUR). It’s the brainchild of Aamu Song and Johan Olin, two Finns who make a variety of exciting things. I think it doubles up as a nifty tan template, wear it all summer for an oddball tan line which will detract from your bald visage.

Another designer robbery as MAN designer James Long’s autumn/winter 2008-9 collection goes missing

By ShinyMedia on February 19th, 2008

jameslongcollectionstolen.jpgThis is becoming absurd, not to mention extremely frustrating to read about. reports that MAN designer James Long has had his autumn/winter 2008-9 collection stolen. The young designer suffered at the hands of thieves a mere hours after his show took place last Friday. We reviewed the MAN show earlier in the week.

It is reported that in the early hours of the following morning, his Hackney studio was broken into and the entire collection pinched. "Everything, except a few accessories, was taken. They didn’t take my laptop, or anything else – just the collection," he said.

As police continue their investigation, Topman Design is offering Long its full support. "For a young designer, producing a collection is exhausting mentally, physically and financially, so to have everything stolen, straight after your show – especially as it was so well received by the press and buyers – is, quite frankly, devastating," Gordon Richardson, the label’s design director, told WGSN.

Whether it’s related to the same fashion bandits who have been terrorising London’s boutique owners and designers over the last 12 months is unclear, but preying on designers who have just presented their collections to the industry is pretty under-handed. I sincerely hope it isn’t some kind of publicity stunt, otherwise talk about coming down from a cloud with a thud!
