How could we have missed the boat on this one? We heralded the age of the ‘medge’ aka the male wedge and we all witnessed the explosion of guyliner, manscara and what have you but somehow the ‘mlutch’ evaded us.

Charlie Porter
‘s been gadding about town sporting the BOT (Bang On Trend) accessory but everybody knows that the trend started with Kel Knight of Kath and Kim fame and his manpurse, a vision in grey leather. I’ve picked out a few women’s clutches that you could happily pass off as a mlutch, jump through to find out more.

Outfit Pick: Trapper Hat Hot

By Will Reid on October 3rd, 2008

outfitpick4.jpgI have to admit that despite being a lover of high-fashion millinery from the likes of Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy, I just can’t wear hats. They look truly horrific on me.

But the whole Brandish team is currently infatuated with an item that looks set to take off in the coming months (of snow and cold.) That item is the Trapper Hat.

In this week’s Outfit Pick, I’ve added a few eccentric pieces to a Topman Trapper hat and created a look that anyone could pull of by balancing the quirky tweed bag and dancing brogues with a classic beige trench also from Topman.

Are items you want to see included in a Brandish Outfit Pick? E-mail: isabelle@shinymedia.com!

Product details after the jump…

Love The Look: Men at Kris Van Assche, Paris

By Will Reid on September 29th, 2008

The Kris Van Assche show was bound to attract some of the fash-pack’s best-dressing men and with the help of The Sartorialist, we need not fly to Paris to savour the front-row fashion savoir-faire.

These guys are both rocking fairly androgynous looks and as Isabelle mentioned earlier, it’s no secret that Doc Martens are the industry’s hot (but slowly cooling) item. I like the other man’s over-sized bag but what interests me the most is his headscarf. D&G featured Queen-chic headscarves on their runway last season and being of Scottish origin, I fail to not feel a slight home-sickness when faced with high-fashion previously seen in my gran’s wardrobe.

Fashion inspiration comes when you least expect it!

Cuckoo go a bit A.P.C this spring

By admin on March 13th, 2008

If you were saving up some money before you
got an A.P.C bag, then you’re out of luck – it’s sold out. Luckily Cuckoo have
a canvas
bag
that’s seemingly inspired by the A.P.C equivalent.

It would be unfair to accuse Cuckoo of
copying APC’s weekend bag and just making it smaller but there are several
striking similarities, as you can see from the above picture. The only
difference seems to be that Cuckoo’s bag is made from flimsier material. If you
like APC’s bag but have no need for a weekend bag right now, then this bag
should fit all your nautical needs. Plus it’s only £45. They’ll even make short shorts look a bit less…

Mulberry Leather Folio

By admin on February 1st, 2008

Mulberrybag2
We’ve featured countless man bags here, but
- I can’t believe I’m typing this – there are times when man bags aren’t really
appropriate. You can’t carry a couple of CV’s inside a man bag without it
looking deflated and, in turn, making you look like you don’t know what
accessory suits what occasion.

These times are thankfully few and far
between, but they do occur. When one such occasion arises, a Mulberry
leather folio
will do you wonders. The most impressive feature of this
folio isn’t the leather but the array of business card, mobile phone and pen
pockets that all cram their way inside a very slim folio. The folio’s are
available from Psyche at £250.
