Clothing, Designer Spotlight, Polls

As we move to New York with our menswear coverage, the entire Brandish team has begun searching the shows for particular looks, gossip and moments that have caught our attention. And if there is one designer who has so far got people talking, it would have to be Duckie Brown. This label, designed by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, has been trend-setting in previous seasons and over the last eight years it has definitely become one to watch for editors and writers alike.
So, with that said, what do you think of the label’s latest headwear designs. Loud, outrageous and not just a bit odd, would you be willing to rock this monumental millinery?
Vote Yay or Nay below!

Men.Style have just posted this hilarious video of self-confessed ‘Lo-Head’ rapper, 88-Keys. Don’t panic- I too had absolutely no idea what a ‘Lo-Head’ was but all is revealed and it turns out that this term is colloquial for someone who is obsessed with the Ralph Lauren Polo clothing.
What do you think of these label loons. Do you go ga-ga for Gucci? Are you bonkers for Bottega? Vote Yay or Nay after the jump.

Heroes and Celebrities
By Jonathan Smith on December 31st, 2008

Men.style.com has compiled their top 25 stylish moments of 2008, sadly it doesn’t include me, grey acid washed, one shoe, a bottle or rum and a whole load of vomit- a classic look to span decades. What is even more upsetting is that rapping retard Kanye West features in this list and as 2008 draws to a close is still alive, so my prayers have gone unanswered.
Check out the The Most Stylish Moments of 2008 here.

Men.Style is great for tongue-in-cheek features and their ‘Ultimate Party Guide’ is not only perfectly-timed but a great read and (just to add some sense of validity to this post,) a good laugh. The feature aims to make you “a legendary host” and the site has got a few of America’s most refined movers ‘n’ shakers on-board to add their two pence to the Christmas-party-nightmare cup.
If you are planning to throw a party and you’re hoping it lives up to the obviously high-expectations of those who actually enjoy Christmas (which I’m sure is all Brandish readers!) then you have to read the full run-down of the guide after the jump!

This is only vaguely fashion related but who can resist Brandish favourites Kanye West and Andre 3000 doing a bit of choreographed dancing? The other partakers in this slightly bizarre video are beatmakers Sa-Ra and P.Diddy’s former butler-turned-singer Fonzworth Bentley. Together they call themselves C.O.L.O.U.R.S which stands for cool outrageous lovers of uniquely raw style.
Bringing this back to fashion, Taz of Sa-Ra has been featured in a couple of Sartorialist photographs on Men.Style and seems to have a very eye catching look. Do we have a future style icon in the making?

While
Richard reported only two weeks ago of Tokyo’s willingness to queue for Bape goods, the label managed a slightly more A-list attendance for their LA store opening. Forget members of the public and imagine more the likes of Mike Tyson, Nicole Richie and Japanese fashion-darling artist Takashi Murakami. There was no M&S mob or Primark-passionates but only those able to afford the “diamond-encrusted A Bathing Ape Casio watch customized by Jacob the Jeweler” (*cough cough* Pharrell.) The store opened on Wednesday night in West Hollywood and looks set to only expand the brand beloved of fashion-followers everywhere.
Continue reading to see a picture of Kanye West in trousers that I sorely wish were mine.

Men.Style.com have a great article on Marc Jacobs up where he addresses issue with his shows, his body and accusations of a midlife crisis. His response to the latter is “I don’t feel like I’m in crisis, and I don’t know that it’s the middle of my life”. Fair enough.
While it’s great he’s decided to get fit and all, he does look slightly bizarre – like a regular persons head stickered on top of a picture of a Calvin Klein model. Andy Peters and Gary Rhodes also have this effect and there’s something slightly unsettling about the look of it. Not that I’m knocking them for working out, I’m just saying.
