The Yuketen Kilted Sports Blucher

By Laura on January 25th, 2011

Yuketen was founded by Yuki Matsuda, who moved to America in order to work with footwear Artisans. Together they began to produce Moccasin style hunting boots, inspired by 1930′s mountain men. The shoes are made with traditional methods, using American sourced naked leather, to wrap the foot (not just cover it as most shoes this day do). The soles are made from real crepe, which is of course, 100% natural rubber from Brazil and takes about 4 hours to hand sew to the upper.

This season Yuketen has introduced the Kilted Sports Blucher, which fuses both moccasin and deck shoe sensibilities together. These would look absolutely amazing with a pair of rolled up chinos.

This man’s outfit is an exercise in faux simplicity: the slouchy cardigan, loose fit jeans and slipperesque moccasins all lull you into a false feeling of insouciance.

Take another look and you notice how the belt and gold buttons pick up the colour of the shoes. This adds richness and warmth to the outfit and contrasts with the flat grey blouson. The white t-shirt peeking through gives a jolt of freshness and the neatly tied neckerchief adds another layer of interest.
