Varon Bonicos’s documentary “A Man’s Story”, following the trials and tribulations of tailor-to-the-stars and leading light in men’s fashion Ozwald Boateng, hits UK cinemas this Friday March 9th. 14 years in the making, the film follows Boateng’s day-to-day life from around the time of his 1998 divorce from first wife Pascale, up to his triumphant London Fashion Week 2010 closing show. Littered …
While the whole world (ok, a bit of an exaggeration) is going crazy over Megan Fox over at Brandish our eyes are trained on the menfolk.
Josh Duhamel and Shia LaBeouf both turned up to the Transformers première in grey suits; LaBeouf wins points for opting for a three-piece suit, while Duhamel’s jacket looks like its been moulded to his body.
When American Apparel president Dov Charney tells the press that he’s “not sorry of expressing myself,” it usually means that he has done something involving hip fashion, knee-high socks and models who are dubiously dewy-skinned. However, in this case, Charney is responding to reports over…
Of all the films pending release in early 2009, Harvey Milk – Gus Van Sant‘s biopic of the gay rights leader/politician – is most likely to have an impact on the fashion front. As we stride towards a boot-legged, tight-hipped summer, the movie might just start to look prescient: suggesting alternatives to the side parting (big hair!) and yet more reasons to grow a moustache.
Ashton Kutcher is one of my low-key style icons. Firstly, he started out as a model and it was he who introduced the now infamous ‘trucker cap’ to the fashion scene. Rumours were rife of a fashion collaboration when he was spotted note-taking in the front rows of fashion weeks and now he has provided us with even more style inspiration.
My bad! I may have the wrong film but I doubt such a slip-up would result in a look that miserable from Robert DeNiro? Might it be that he’s fed up with films? Maybe he (okay, clearly he) couldn’t be bothered to make the effort to dress up but my bet is that it’s standing next to Al Pacino who, as well as being an arguably equal competitor on the greatest actor front, actually look pretty good!

This week’s ‘Love The Look’ sees Joshua Jackson, and boyfriend of Diane Kruger, looking incredibly dapper in a Hollywood screen-star suit. I’m guessing that, by the waistcoat, details and fact that just about every Hollywood man at the moment is hooked, that the suit is by Tom Ford but who care’s about a lack of originality when you’ve made this much effort!
Last night I went to see ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ at a small, local film-house. The queues trailed out of the cinema and down the street- surely a first for such a small-scale cinema. Bearing in mind that this cinema sits in the middle of a village that doesn’t exactly boast of a youthful population, I knew there must be some reason they were flocking to watch a super-hero film. That reason is Heath Ledger.
Perez Hilton has got his hands on the heavily anticipated Jude Law for Dior Homme Sport campaign images. Hilton complains of the blatant photoshop-job surrounding Jude’s sudden wealth of hair, hence the equally blatant ‘FAKE’ scrawled across the image in trademark Perez style!
JustJared reports that Jude was shot by Australian photographer Daniel Askill in May, on location in the Bahamas. “It was hard for me to decide whether to take it on because I had directed an ad for Dior before with Hedi [Slimane], it was one of the last major projects before he left, so it was a very tumultuous time.”

The new Batman film, Dark Knight, has been causing quite a stir throughout the film industry. Heath Ledger’s stellar acting, the new and improved Batmobile, the expectations thrust upon Christian Bale- all these things are no doubt exciting but how did the creative edge of this film translate onto the red carpet?
