Poll: Would you take fashion advice from George Lamb?

By admin on May 29th, 2009

george lamb clothes show.jpg

The Clothes Show kicked off today and over at CQ we were left wondering what Katie Price had in mind for her equestrian bikini.
Also at the Clothes Show was TV and radio presenter George Lamb, normally his style errs the wrong side of indie, but he looked quite fetching in a taupe jacket with a gorgeous mustard silk tie. He seems to be positioning himself as a bit of a menswear expert. Would you take fashion advice from George Lamb? take our poll and let us know!

Band of Outsiders Holiday Collection

By admin on October 21st, 2008

Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg asked photographer Paul Jasmin to pose for their Holiday Collection in his LA home, it’s a shoot full of character and really gets the message of the clothes across.
The pieces are traditional menswear worn with a casual feel, think mustard velvet waistcoats, gently rumpled shirts and bow ties.

Chad Rogers, whoever you are we like your shirt

By admin on September 17th, 2008

Chad Rogers plaid shirt mustard tie.jpgForgive me for I have no idea who the man in this photograph is. His name is Chad Rogers and I like his shirt.

I suppose if I was dressing him I would have teamed the jeans with a khaki/brown belt to go with the check, I’m almost suspicious that his belt is made from horror of horrors… Plastic. Back to the positives, a mustard tie makes the outfit and elevates the plaid shirt from your everyday check to something a little more special. See Alex James’ Ascot look for tie-spiration.

Email me at isabelle [at] shinymedia.com to tell me what a moron I am for not knowing who Chad Rogers is or just to say hello.

[Edited to add: I have just found out who Chad Rogers is. I'm sorry, I wont do it again.]

Missoni button-neck knit

By admin on September 10th, 2008

missoni knit jumper.jpg
Autumn has arrived and with it comes all those lovely warm autumnal colours like aubergine, pumpkin and burgundy. Missoni‘s knit button neck jumper combines all of these with a buttercup yellow, a navy and a grey to stop it looking too fusty.
The deep v-neck will allow you to show off a t-shirt, clashing shirt, or even dare I say it a polo neck. Get it from Browns for £430; winter layering has never been so hot.

Luca Rubinacci in lavender and mustard

By admin on August 6th, 2008

luca rabinucci sartorialist scott schuman.jpgThe Sartorialist snapped Luca Rubinacci, son of Italian tailor Mariano Rubbinaci looking resplendent in a tricky combination of lavender and mustard.

His white jeans add freshness to the look and note the pale stripe shirt, which stops the outfit from looking too blocky. I like the quirky touch of a few (Indian ?) bangles and I can never overlook a pair of tasselled loafers.

After the jump I’ve picked out a few lavender and mustard items to get the look, and a great A.P.C shirt to tone it all down.
