Ray-Bans were last year’s hit sunnies, but this year maybe try something a little more anonymous?

‘s orange sunglasses retail at £12, and despite the lack of branding still have a distinctive retro look. The orange frames look great with a tan and there’s a nice clash going on with the purple lenses. Mango’s pair (£23) are for the more classically minded, the tortoiseshell frame and old fashioned shape will go great with a ‘Talented Mr Ripley‘ style summer look.

Splashing out on a pair of brightly coloured suede boots might not be your biggest priority at the moment but Aquascutum’s desert boots are pretty appealing.

Orange is one of the big colour trends to come out of womenswear this season and it’s a great shade to pep up staple menswear items like beige khakis, grey cardigans and jeans. What’s more the boots are on sale with 30% off at Farfetch so you’ve got a great excuse should you wish to treat yourself to something to perk up the post-Christmas slump.

My summer romance with deck shoes was coming to an end but then Kurt Geiger’s ‘Lost Sounds’ shoes (£55) appeared on the scene and made me reconsider my winter strategy. First of all they’re three tone which is always a surefire bet for a good shoe, and the colours themselves are a tonal duo of greys with a shot of orange guaranteed to beat the winter blues.

Worn with a pair of socks in a clashing bright or a stripy grey this is a summer romance that might make it till next spring.

Steven Alan Weekend bag

By admin on June 3rd, 2008

orange bag.jpgBags are usually available in muted tones as people seek to match it with as many items as possible. In those times when you want a bit of colour contrast you may need a bag that stands out a little more. That’s where this Steven Alan bag comes in.

It’s surprisingly versatile for an orange bag, lending itself to any splash of colour based outfit. The size of the bag means it’s best for either a night over or a heavy shopping trip and it looks particularly fetching with the nautical look. It’s available from Oki-Ni for £99.
