The Desert Boot is a design classic and is one of those items which never really goes out of style. I recently saw a well-dressed chap on the street sporting a suede pair with some tracksuit-bottom style cuffed trousers and it made a great outfit.

Clarks Originals
have some great traditional colours available for Autumn, their Desert Boot comes in cream, tan and ebony. They’ve also updated the look and brought out a pair in shimmering peach or silver and they’re about a hundred times better looking than they sound on paper.

The peach pair would look great with some faded grey jeans and in my dreams I’d love to see the silver pair as part of an all-metallic outfit… What? Pictures after the jump.

Lanvin metallic deck shoes

By admin on May 16th, 2008

lanvin deck shoes matches peach grey.jpgI’ve only recently got over my deck shoe inverse snobbery, which makes it even harder to figure out whether these metallic Lanvin deck shoes are the most awesome shoe ever, or just really lame. They’re just so over the top I think I’m in love.

Obviously grey suede and peach metallic leather were never going to be suitable for actually wearing on a boat, so if you feel like splashing £465 out on a pair forego any cargo pants, wraparound shades or polar fleeces. Team them instead with slim fit white jeans (yes, seriously) and a grey v-neck for a neutral take on the ’80s Club Tropicana look.

Last chance to buy Miu Miu

By admin on February 7th, 2008

MiumiuAs Miu Miu menswear breathes its last this season, we should all perhaps be stocking up on the label before it disappears forever – well, for the time being at least. This peach cardigan is really quite lovely. I know I predicted the end of cardigans but I’ve changed my mind. That’s the fickle finger of fashion for you. Deal with it.

I’ve never been able to wear Miu Miu unfortunately: their tops are always way too short and barely scrape my nipples. If you’re not freakishly long in the body though, you might want to check it out. Available from Browns.
