Pete Doherty launches jewellery line, Albion Trinketry

Yesterday Pete Doherty launched his jewelry for Joseph.

The Babyshambles frontman teamed-up with jeweler Hannah Martin to create a collection which includes cuff links, pendants, rings and necklaces – called Albion Trinketry. According to Doherty, the line was inspired by a time when men carried pocket watches and wore their best clothes on Sundays.

The line will be sold exclusively at Joseph.

Being on public transport in the glorious-but-annoyingly-timed-to-coincide-with-the-working-week heat wave is pretty grim. Buses, trains and especially the Tube are hotter than Bin Laden’s pager number; if you were naked you would still be wearing too much. Clearly you can’t rock out with your cock out on public transport, however you can compromise with Granddad’s favourite, a vest.

WISHLIST: CA4LA Trilby

This week I happen to be in the rather happening city of Mumbai. This former Bombay is, according to US Vogue, the new “It-City” but after landing yesterday I must admit that the gruelling heat wave soon quashed my hopes of glamour and a jet-set style wardrobe. In my stone grey Topman shorts, white belt, Karate Kid t-shirt and flip-flops I realised I was missing something and as soon as I stepped into the light of Indian sun I realised that what I needed was a hat. In my opinion, the trilby is a classic ruined by our own style icons but Browns is trying to change this and the CA4LA collection they have started to stock has a great variety of classic hats with a modern twist. My fave is this hat above with blue brim, white trim and black crown. With badge and feather included, what’s to stop you from pulling a Geldof and strutting out of airport lounges stealing bottles of wine (that’s an actual observation.)

Pete Doherty turns down modelling gig

According to Dlisted, Pete Doherty has turned down a modelling job offer from lastseason.com because there wasn’t enough money it. He doesn’t get out of bed for less than £30,000 according to his people, but the site was only willing to pay £10,000.

Unpeturbed by the knock back, the site owner’s still trying to rinse some publicity out of the situation by going public with the story (which I suppose I’m helping here – drat). “Oo does ‘e think ‘e is!” he balked “Claudia blinkin’ Schiffer?” (comedy cockney outrage has been added for effect).

I don’t think you’d get Claudia Schiffer for 30 large, mate.
I have to say, fair enough on Pete. The site is pretty poor and he’s got his reputation to think of (ha! Reputation!). But you know what I mean – he can’t go from Roberto Cavalli and Dior Homme to lastseason.com without it being worth his while.
