I doubt I need to give any background to the ‘Presidential Major Moment’ currently hitting headlines around the world. Looking through pictures of President Obama’s (how unbelievably cool is that?!) inauguration, I couldn’t help but let my mind wonder onto more sartorial matters.
Avid Brandishers will know that we have more than a little soft spot for the man who looks really ruddy likely to be the next U.S President: Barrack Obama, so it comes as no surprise that, yes, this is another Obama related post. Though this is not really in any way related to fashion it has been doing the rounds on many of the fashion and culture websites so I thought I’d give it it’s due here on old Brandles.
It has been a few weeks now since I last posted something Obama related, not that the fashion world hasn’t been punctuated almost daily with a new label pushing the Obama cause with some special edition T-shirt or sneaker- something that has been unheard of for any other Presidential Candidate. Could you really see Clinton’s face on the toe box of a Dunk? Neither can I, Monica Lewinsky’s box on the other hand… Ho-ho-ho, I jest. It has got to the stage now where you could have an entire weeks worth of wardrobe clad head to toe in top fashion brands bearing the visage of Barack.
Andre Benjamin (also known as Andre 3000) is taking part in the latest ‘Declare Yourself’ campaign which urges American youths to cast their vote as to who should be the next President of their country.

Some more Barack action for you after last weeks “O-Face” debacle where I, possibly incorrectly attributed the inspiration for the Barack “O-Face” Obama t-shirt to that scene in “Office Space” and was subsequently correct by Jason whose explanation does make more sense. In my defense may I say that on the UNDR-CRWN website “Office Space” is attributed as the inspiration for said T, so you know I’m not just making this stuff up. Just saying.
The man is back, and seemingly the t-shirt world cannot get enough of the 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidate. Barack “O-Face” Obama is gracing many a piece of apparel in the lead up to the election, the inspiration for this latest piece from UNDR-CRWN is random at best and I’m failing to see any tangible link between the O-Face scene from Office Space and our man B.O, once again proving that humour is just Barack Obama set against almost anything.
