Sponsored Video: Be a creator with ASOS Black X Puma range and the Pixadores

By shinychris on September 18th, 2012

Set to launch on September 25 is a new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from Puma and ASOS. Boasting sport finishes and fashion shapes, the products will all feature embossed rubberised branding along with the ASOS Black x Puma logo.

The 40-piece collection comprises contemporary, modernised classics – strong tailored designs with a timeless sporting heritage – from gilets and padded jackets to T-shirts and knitwear, all topped out with exclusive ASOS Black x Puma bags, hats and belts.

To mark the launch, filmmaker Ben Newman has documented the lives of Brazilian graffiti collective, the Pixadores – see video below. Based in the Sao Paulo, they are regarded as being at the forefront of free expression and street culture, bombing the city with spray paint and foam rollers at night.

Involved in a renowned protest which took place in the Pavillion of the Arts Biennial of Sao Pauolo in 2008, they painted the white walls with messages of protest such as ‘down with the dictatorship’ and one of their activists, Caroline Pivetta de Mota, was even arrested.

With their blend of cultural content and guerrilla style, the Pixadores are considered the perfect ambassadors for ASOS Black X Puma’s latest range. Their message, ‘Be A Creator’, is also shared with the latest campaign. People are encouraged to express their creativity by sharing pictures, drawings, designs and videos using the #Beacreator tag.

Sponsored Video: Puma Social challenges us to live our lives, not watch other peoples!

By shinychris on March 29th, 2012

Sponsored post:

Spend less time watching TV and get on and live your life. That’s the message behind Puma’s latest  SOCIAL campaign. Celebrating those who choose to ignore the banality of today’s reality TV stars in favour of creating their own stories with friends and teammates, the film basically encourages us to get off our lazy backsides – if we haven’t already.

Whether it’s playing darts or table tennis, dancing with our friends or shooting pool, the film challenges the millennium generation to break free from the confines of reality TV ‘stars’, fame hunters and prima donnas. Asks the film: “Am I to be a wall of channel surfing and programmed petri dishes? A spew of reality TV stars…Or do you want me more..when life is played and not performed.

Created by the Droga 5 agency and directed by Fredrik Bond, the 90 second film juxtaposes reality TV audio clips with a group of youths getting out and having fun. It features clothes, footwear and accessories from the Spring, Summer and Autumn Winter 2012 Puma Social collection.

As well sponsoring professional athletes during this summer’s London 2012 Olympic games, PUMA Social aims to be the sponsor those obscure, bizarre and after-hour games that bond friends and create ‘remember that night’ moments – in other words the After Hours athlete!

Check out the YouTube video below and make up your own mind.

PUMA x Deadmau5 collection

By Laura on August 4th, 2011

This week Foot Locker launches the exclusive the PUMA x Deadmau5 collection.

Over the years Canadian electro DJ/producer Deadmau5 has rarely been seen rocking anything other than PUMA gear while performing, so it’s no surprise that the two have finally teamed up to create this capsule collection.

According to the PUMA, the collection was “Beat-inspired” and “designed to get you off your feet and dancing to the music. Electro coloured inspired combinations and detailing that include the iconic oversized mouse head, are just some of the features that make this collection all about personality, music and Summer fun.”

New Puma Suede

By jsmith on July 16th, 2009

puma-suede-collection-3.jpg

Puma have been digging around in the dead stock closet and come out with a butt load of new Suede colours hitting the shelves at the end of the summer. Puma Suedes akin to the Reebok Pump, the Adidas Shell Toes and the Nike Air Max1 are mega players in the sneaker world, never looking dated and always being refreshed with new colourways.

If you really like to draw attention then why not team a pair of these with some bleached denim when they drop late August. Available from Wellgosh and other top retailers.

Back to the 90′s…

By Jonathan Smith on December 16th, 2008

I’ve always been of the opinion that my shoes lack the neon effect of a porn shop window, which is why I nearly shit a brick when I saw this video. These light up neon laces are the focus point of a pair of Solebox x Puma collaborative sneakers, which will hopefully be released soon- perhaps coming a little late for New Rave however there are probably a few hangers on out there, after all American Apparel is still doing business…

Here’s a bit of fun for you this Monday, print off the Hipster Bingo picture, go find your nearest coffeeshop or pub with a big window and start trendspotting. Of course, you might want to tweak it a little for UK-hipsters. I’d start by swapping the old-school Pumas for white PE plimsolls, what would you change?

Puma Pop Art trainers

By admin on October 24th, 2008

Puma Pop Art.jpgPuma has a fantastic new range of shoes and sportswear based on the iconic work of Roy Lichtenstein.

These trainers are the standout pieces from the collection; available in red and grey they are at once delightfully simple and immediately reminiscent of the pop art guru’s style; this simplicity contrasts starkly with Nike’s far less subtle attempt at capturing the style.

I’ve spotted these on various people on the tube and they make a great statement both from afar and up close.

Puma X Gumball 3000

By Jonathan Smith on August 6th, 2008

puma-gumball3000-tshirts-1.jpg

If you have never heard of The Gumball 3000 then clearly you need to pay more attention to the lifestyles of the rich and famous. The Gumball is a 3000 mile annual road rally frequented by only the richest of the rich who can afford to write off their Lamborghini and pay £60,000 for the privilege.

The road race was started in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper with the premise of raising enough money to fund his own Formula 1 race team. Nine years on and the race team never materialised, however The Gumball has become a brand name in itself pulling major sponsors from around the world.

More pics after the jump.

Puma Endangered Species Collection trainers

By admin on June 19th, 2008

met_puma.jpgYou know you’ll want to be SPOTTED out and about in these! Ha! Haha! Huh. These trainers are a collaboration between Puma, Atmos NYC and National Geographic photographer Mitsuaki Iwago, apparently. See how they have animal print and the words “South Pole” on them? What that means is that they are in honour of an endangered species.

I’m not sure wearing these means you’re likely to save any soon-to-be-extinct fwuffy animals, but at least you can show people that you think damn hard about such matters as you pick out expensive footwear.

Atmos’s website seems to be too cool to provide any details regarding anything whatsoever, so if you want a pair you might need to get your Google on, folks.

Leather Puma Clyde trainers

By admin on April 29th, 2008

pumaclyde_2.jpg

As you might have guessed, we’re quite the fans of Puma here. You could say that Puma is our version of crack. No matter how much we try to stay away from it, we just keep on going back for one more hit. This will be the last time you see Puma on Brandish. This week.

The reasons why we’ve decided to hit that crackpipe one more time are these sky blue leather Clydes. Puma have made Clyde their staple shoe, offering variation upon variation of what was once a basketball shoe. Although they should pop up on the official Puma site soon, for now they’re available on Rakuten.

Julia Hederus x K.Swiss

By admin on April 3rd, 2008
RTEmagicC_kswiss_hederus_1.jpg.jpg

K-Swiss were about the only sportswear
brand who hadn’t attempted to collaborate with any designers. Clearly they got bored of seeing Puma team up with Alexander McQueen, as they’re collaborating with rising designer Julia Hederus.

Kim Jones Umbro trainers

By admin on March 27th, 2008

umbrokimjones.jpg

Umbro aren’t a brand you associate with style. No matter what they do, when people think Umbro, they think football. It’s an image association that the company are finding impossible to shake, which is a shame as their Kim Jones collaboration has produced some great trainers, with
these Mid-tops
the pick of an impressive bunch.

Whilst I’m sure no Brandish readers commit
this felony, I’ve started to notice an alarming number of people wearing Mid to
High tops and covering them with jeans that cover the majority of the trainer.
Doesn’t this defeat the point of wearing high trainers?

But enough about my pet peeves, these
trainers are available for a very affordable £60. Considering an Alexander
McQueen Puma trainer costs upwards of £150, these are bargains of Del-boy
proportions.

Puma leopard print high tops

By admin on February 28th, 2008

Pumaleopardprints

There’s been a bit of a Puma overload at
Brandish lately, so I solemnly promise that this will be the last post on
anything involving Puma. Until the next one, which could be tomorrow. Hey, they
don’t say people in fashion are fickle just for alliteration purposes.

Before we go on this Puma strike, we
thought we’d show you these leopard
print high tops
, which are amazing for three reasons. 1 – they’re leopard
print; 2 – they’re purple; 3 – They’re £40. If that’s not enough to get you
dribbling over your computer, then you’re dead inside.

Puma are bringing ’88 back

By admin on February 22nd, 2008

Puma_hightop
For some reason, it’s always been a chore
to find great plain items. That’s why, after god knows how many years, people
are still searching for the perfect white t-shirt. That search may have been
solved by American Apparel, but what about the perfect white High-tops?

Puma – our
most loved brand
– have sought to answer this question with their First
Round L’s
.  Puma clearly got bored
with getting fashion school students making 80′s knock offs and just started
releasing trainers from their 80′s catalogue instead – and their new range is
all the better for it. The First Round L’s are available from Puma’s website
and cost £60.
