Gotye dominates Spotify’s most-played streaming lists for 2012

By Gerald Lynch on November 29th, 2012

Gotye3.jpgSpotify have revealed the artists making waves through their music streaming service in 2012, publishing the lists of most streamed albums, tracks, and artists, both globally and in the UK, as well as the most used apps in the desktop Spotify application.

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ is by far this year’s most popular song on Spotify, topping the global and UK streaming lists, as well as being the most shared song on Spotify. Gotye himself also places 5th on the ‘Most-streamed male artists’ list on Spotify too

Moving onto albums and David Guetta’s ‘Nothing But The Beat’ takes the top spot, followed again by Gotye with ‘Making Mirrors’.

Rihanna bags the most-streamed female artist award, while Guetta claims the same title for blokes, with Coldplay topping the list of most streamed bands.

When it comes to applications within Spotify, TuneWiki, the sing-along karaoke app with (sometimes dodgy) crowd-sourced lyrics tops the charts.

Brandish Poll: The Met, the Models, the Mess! Keifer Sutherland and Jack McCullough Brawl?

By Will Reid on May 7th, 2009

brandishtees.jpgIn the aftermath of the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, fashionistos/as across the world have been gorging over that turban, Madonna’s wackiness, Rihanna’s brilliant tux and Naomi’s beautiful boycott. However, it emerged today that off the red carpet a fight was on and statements are being made across the fashion universe in response to reports that Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCullough was headbutt by 24′s Keifer Sutherland after McCullough supposedly knocked Brooke Shields over.

Surely not, I hear you cry. But yes, McCullough’s rep has confirmed today that “anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly…all we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of the authorities.” How delightful!

The question stands- are you Team McCullough or Team Sutherland?

Kanye West’s Pastelle preview

By admin on August 20th, 2008

kanye-west-pastelle-preview-1.jpg

Seeing as Mr. West is an established favourite here at Brandish, we feel it only fair to link to a sneak preview of his Pastelle line. As until now pictures of Pastelle clothing have been a rare joy and although the line is due out in November, this doesn’t look set to change. If Vman went through a load of hassle to get the pictures – the tagline reads ‘if only you knew what we went through to get these pictures’ – what hope is there for the rest of us?

The clothes themselves are wearable, if a little unremarkable, but I’ll assume that given the probable high price point they’ll be made using impeccable tailoring and materials. See the rest of the pictures after the jump.
