Team GB really lucked out when they managed to bag Stella McCartney’s superb skills for the design of their Adidas Olympic kit. But for some nations, the Olympic catwalk has not been so kind. Forget the empty seats at many events – for Brandish it’s been far more distressing spotting the sportswear sins some nations have forced upon their top athletes with their official kits. Here we highlight our pick of the worst five, including Team Russia, Team China and Team Germany. Scroll down to check out our picks!
Team Russia
The red and white squiggles of Team Russia's kit are supposed to be inspired by Moscow's street art. But these kit catastrophes couldn't be any further from the cutting-edge wit of street art if they tried. Perhaps they're a cast off from axed KGB camouflage gear from the seventies. You'd have blended in with Cold War-era wallpaper with ease in one of these tops.

Designer Spotlight, Entertainment, Grooming, Heroes and Celebrities

Fashionista, the site that is always in-the-know, has reported upon a WWD article that reveals tennis-supremo Rafael Nadal as the chosen face of French fashion-house Lanvin’s new fragrance for men, L’Homme Sport.
Nadal is the first tennis face to front the campaign of a French fashion house and the news of his appointment is causing quite the stir. Nadal recently became the Number 1 Tennis Player in the World, taking over from Roger Federer who is, himself, a bit of a fashion darling beloved by editors and designers from Anna Wintour to Oscar De La Renta.

Roger Federer turned heads on court at Wimbledon sporting a refined retro outfit of gold-trimmed cardigan, polo shirt and tailored shorts. It’s a departure from the on court trend of wearing hi-tech sportswear and harks back to a more genteel era of tennis.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m no sartorial luddite, but Federer’s preppy chic outfit is a cut above your average sweat soaked poly-mesh racer back all-in-onsie. Whether it will make any difference to his game remains to be seen, as he faces Robin Soderling at lunchtime. Vote in our poll and let us know what you think of the Swiss tennis star.

List any of this season’s It-items and chances are they are water-related or wave-inspired. Yes, that means you boat shoe, loafer, plimsoll, striped tee and navy (hello!) blue shirt.
The mood is light yet determined and spray-in-the-face cool. Imagine sea-side escapades (emphasis on the imagine) and sand between your toes as you loosely raise that striped knit from your oversized Jil Sander mesh-holdall.
Look to the collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton (left) and see after the jump for a full report of this operation. Oh, my fellow SEALs, the time has come for a full-scale suppression of those autumnal tones.
