With the V-neck takeover that happened last winter, this year looks to see a comeback for the good ol’ crew neck and one of the best is this Rykiel Homme jumper.
It’s rare to see an oversized graphic jumper look understated, but RH have managed just that. Due to the relatively sombre colours of the design, it manages not to look too OTT whilst remaining eye catching. For a sweater £199.50 is a little steep, but it does make for a great statement piece so it would be worth the investment.

With most sales selling out within hours these days, it’s refreshing to see that the Men a la mode sale still has stock an entire week after it started. There’s so many pieces on sale, you’ll probably be suffering from ‘embarrassment of riches’ syndrome. I just made that syndrome, but I bet someone out there has it.

Seeing as Rykiel Homme is closing down, their clothes will make the transition from good piece to collector’s item. Before that transition is made, a lot of it goes on sale. This brings us to these Rykiel Homme jeans.
These jeans look like a toned down version of those radioactive Dior Homme jeans that Kanye West put up on his blog a while back. The muted colouring is still sharp enough to stand out from other jeans and they’re also about £200 cheaper than the Dior version. You can get these from the corner for £84.

Fans of Sonia Rykiel Homme will be sad to hear that after it’s SS 09 collection, it will be no more. The reason for this is, despite running for two decades, they’ve never actually made money on their collection.
Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of Sonia Rykiel and President of the Rykiel fashion house stated that “We are a family run business and we wish to remain so…thus the decision to focus on our core business which is women”.
In tribute, I leave you with this catwalk report and a picture of the most wearable men’s leopard print jacket ever.

This shirt from Rykiel Homme is perfect for the season. Dark with a touch of colour it is fresh and non-fussy as well as being a quirky classic. From the über stylish Start Boutique, it would honestly work with just about any item. 100% cotton with stripes of black, white, grey, blue, lilac and green it also features a ribbed collar and sleeves and could be unisex with its balance of masculine and feminine tones. I would style it with white skinny jeans, the gorgeous blue brogues Richard posted about (please be released!,) a vintage velvet blazer and my silver watch. You all better not get in my way when the AW08 Rykiel collection lands. You have been warned.
I’m a lover of leopard print as I’ve previously mentioned, but trust Rykiel Homme to make it the absolute chic-est it can be. On cobalt blue and shocking pink it looked electrifying and splashed all over the hooded jacket it was so tough it screamed “Oi you! You laughing at my jacket?”. Ok, not screamed, roared.
