English label John Smedley, who might just be our favourite knitwear maker ever, have added a load of new jumpers and polo shirts to its sale site.
You’ll need to register to get in, but once you do there is a selection of very striking round and V neck sweaters in its sale reduced for £75 to just £40. The colours are very spring/early summer and include Nocturne (kind of purpley blue), Almond (a beige/white mix) and Dove Blue (which is classic light blue).
There are also some polo type shirts in the sale reduced in price by around 45% to around the £50 mark. There are long and short sleeved shirts available. The short sleeved ones are made from Merino Wool, while the long sleeved shirts from Sea Island Cotton.
As ever you’ll have to move quickly.

With many online boutiques starting there summer sales this week, I thought a pick from a couple wouldn’t go amiss. Oki-Ni have a huge sale on and it really is the chance to pick up something beautiful and rare at a bargain price.
Shorts by Pendleton x Opening Ceremony £165 £99
The first pick is these Pendleton x Opening Ceremony shorts. Such a wonderful collaboration teaming American Heritage with urban pieces, these shorts are one of the only pieces in the range with checks instead of Navajo print and it works perfectly.
Trousers by Acne £245 £147
These Acne Pitched Posh Trousers are a slightly different shape from just a tapered leg, with a balloon shape giving the trousers a very slim ankle but a relaxed fit throughout the rest of the trouser. Made from 56% linen and 44% cotton these are a light trouser for the summer and would look great turned up with some pastel brogues for a smart but forward look.
Leather Jacket by Chronicles Of Never £1155 £693
This unstructured crumple effect leather has the edges left raw for an ‘organic effect’ and I have to say it works beautifully. The unstructured silhouette works well with a skinny bottom half and it’s been styled well with a longer length t-shirt underneath.

Is this t-shirt going to convince everybody? I’m not certain, but priced at just £6 in the Asos sale I’m sure some people could be persuaded.
The tiger print is, of course, the most superior of animal prints suggesting feline fun and power. In bright fadeout colours it’s perfect for the summer, and will look great with a pair of tailored shorts and pastel deck shoes, like the ones suggested by Colin, below for a sugar-sweet take on the preppy look.

Canny shoppers take note, the Topman sale is now on which means that if you do some careful shopping you can pick up some pieces that will take you through Spring into summer.
A grey peacoat is a great building block for your wardrobe, Topman’s cropped offering might not last you forever but at £15 it’s an unbeatable price. The Premium wine trousers will get you out of the officewear rut and again they’re at the bargain price of only £25. Tasselled loafers have been cropping up on our fashion radar for some time now, and if you want to dip your toes into the trend forking out £30 for Topman’s pair is a fairly risk-proof investment.

Burton’s sale is now on and they’ve got lots of great reductions including houndstooth waistcoats, the limited edition Ben Sherman overcoats and a good selection of knitwear.
Top of my list however is this bib front dress shirt, it might seem a bit frivolous but how often can you get a shirt like that complete with silk knots and bow for £12?!
Snap up this sale bargain and wear it on an everyday occasion with grey trousers and a burgundy cardigan for a smart outfit with a dash of style.

It’s sale time again and there are plenty of bargains to be had at Topman. Their straight cut grey trousers are a cheap office staple and the graph paper check of the nylon jacket is lots of fun.
For something a little more grown up the navy suede ankle boots look far more expensive than their price suggests, just make sure to arm yourself with some suede protector for rainy days. Finally the shawl collar is big news this autumn, and livens up the commonplace cardigan.

Fashion designer Kenzo Takada is selling his Paris house after twenty years, and he’s posed for some great pictures to inspire even the most credit crunched to make a purchase.
Kenzo’s house is located on the border of the Bastille and Marais neighbourhoods and was built by the designer himself over the course of six years. It’s an impressive 1,300 square metres and boasts a Koi carp pond and Japanese style dining room.

Checks have been on the fashion radar for a while but now they seem to have snowballed and there’ll be no escaping the trend this autumn.
This Shades of Greige check shirt ticks the all check boxes and the grey and white combo is slightly more interesting than your indie uniform of trad plaid.
The lumberjack look is going to be big this winter but subtler pieces like this shirt will see you through the dying days of summer in style. It’s reduced to $59 at Penelope’s and will look great teamed with other soft neutrals.

Combining manly checks with a feminine pink tuxedo ruffle is obviously a recipe for success for Cosmic Wonder whose Wood shirt is sold out in every size but large.
If you fit a large then you’re doubly in luck as the shirt is reduced from £235 to £117.50 at b Store. Team it with the simplest grey trousers and cardigan for a quirky work outfit or with jeans for a Brokeback Mountain pastiche.

Uniqlo are always chock-full of sale bargains, but I wonder if anyone would go for their pink skinny jeans even with the reduction.
They’re down to £14.99 from £24.99, which a good price, but pink is a bit of a tricky colour to wear.
The shade of pink itself is a nice dusky colour which will look good teamed with neutrals in a colourblocking fashion. A nice touch is the dark stitching which gives the jeans a little bit of contrast.
So what do you think of these pink jeans? Would you wear them? Take our poll after the jump!

Sheer shirts have been on the catwalk for a while now and still haven’t been taken up by many men. The reason for this is obvious – not many men want to wear any kind of see through fabric. The plus side of sheer is that it can transform ubiquitous pieces into daring ones instantly. Like this Dries Van Noten shirt.
As Style Salvage noted, the key to wearing sheer is layering. A sheer shirt on its own would look horrific on anyone but a chest waxing model. But team it up with a simple shirt and you’ve good a summer look that will be way ahead of the times.
