WISHLIST: Topman Blue Signet Ring

By Will Reid on July 10th, 2008

bluesignet.jpgNow, I’m not really a jewellery kind of guy and apart from my vintage Omega watch and ragged friendship bracelets I really don’t indulge in the decoration of my exterior.

However, I do quite like this signet ring from Topman and the mixture of edgy ‘blue metal’ and classic signet ring is undoubtedly cool. It would require little other jewellery but would work perfectly with silver pieces such as necklaces and mangles (that’s bangles for those less acquainted with strange fashion-lingo.)

Julie Verhoeven Tees for Mulberry

By Will Reid on April 13th, 2008

mulberrytee2.JPGJulie Verhoeven, the artist and fashion-collaboration extraordinaire has designed a set of t-shirts with her illustrations of animals and other strange creatures. Vogue UK reports that Verhoeven’s fun and frivolous tees are in-store now for both guys and girls at £50 each. Verhoeven relays that “the artwork for the T-shirts came about by wanting a little bit of loopyness for springtime and letting loose the Mulberry menagerie of daft animals.” I couldn’t agree more- as seen in previous posts, I am also feeling the pressure of season transition and these are a designer-label colour boost. Wear them with jeans for day or with thin cardigans in berry tones and the Uniqlo chinos for a low-key evening look. Verhoeven’s previous collection for Mulberry, a collection of quilted bags covered with her illustrations, were a disappointment for many but these look fresh and colourful enough to top many a Spring wishlist.
In stores now, £50 each, Pig, Bunny and Cat (left) motifs

Raf by Raf Simons collection at ASOS

By admin on December 20th, 2007

Rafbyraf
Raf by Raf Simons is a new diffusion line
by, er, Raf Simons. Launched in 2006, the line has recently made its way onto
ASOS as part of their premium brands range. While I could be all bitchy
about things like these
jeans
, what’s the point? Everyone (ASOS included) know no one’s going to
buy them. In an effort to get into the Christmas spirit, I’m going to be
cheerful and choose my favourite piece from this collection. And…..drumroll
please…..my favourite piece of the Raf by Raf Simons collection
is…..is……this
shirt!

If you said that shirt was a bit boring I
wouldn’t disagree with you. It’s not going to change your life. But it is a
well made key piece that will be a staple in your wardrobe for a long time. At
£150, it’s not cheap, but at least you’ll be wearing for a couple of seasons.
