Umbro must be looking to move away from their beer boy image with their collaboration with Kim Jones. Understandably so, as the usual stuff is a bit naff, but the Kim Jones collections are fresh and cater for a range of styles. My favourite items from his A/W 07 collections are the wetlook windcheaters, I’m a bit obsessed with that fabric. I’m a bit disappointed that some of the shoes still look like those classic plastic market trainers, and not in a good way, but one step at a time I suppose. You can get your hands on their clothes at Urban Outfitters and Selfridges across the UK

I have a soft sport for Fly shoes, and at the moment Kurt Geiger have got some Fly Flag boots reduced to £45. It’s different without being try-hard, I like the utilitarian rubber heel and toe which is offset by the red stitching and golden suede. I also like the way they have a nostalgic feel without being to retro or costumey. Kurt Geiger have only got sizes 41, 42, and 43 left so best get your skates on if you love them as much as I do.

David Beckham has been reportedly offered a £10 million contract to be the face L’Oreal. Selling hair products will no doubt enhance his status in LA where he’s playing in Los Angeles Galaxy. It won’t be the first time David Beckham has lent his famous name to advertising, he has also been associated with Gillette and Brylcreem, and has appeared in the US for a ‘Got Milk’ campaign, left.

Russell Crowe’s Australian rugby team "The South Sydney Rabbitohs" will now travel to matches in Armani tailor-made suits designed to "pick up on the team’s rich history." The gruff Australian has tried to update the team’s image by making games more family friendly, and hopes these new new suits will make the players feel like the business. He said: "there can be no better way to arrive for matches than standing tall and feeling confident because of Giorgio Armani’s magic". The team debut their new suits on the 16th. Armani said: "Russell Crowe does not call often and when he does, it is usually about something very important. For me sportsmen are
like modern day gladiators and because they have to show real
dedication and skill they are an inspiration for all of us."
